The imposing Barbie franchise has been around for as long as many of us can remember, with its endless jobs and professions it always reminds us that we can be whatever we want to be. No matter how macho or mature you consider yourself, we all have seen and enjoyed some of Barbie's movies or series, so today I present you my selection of what I consider the best movies of this nice blonde with long hair.

Es mi película favorita de Barbie y amo desempolvarla cuando llega la época de navidad, estoy segura que la mayoría la ha visto ya que es un clásico de TV. La trama se basa en la tradicional historia del Cascanueces, al principio Barbie está practicando junto con su hermanita Kelly los pasos para su recital, pero mientras baila Kelly cae y se desanima, por lo que para animarla su hermana le cuenta la historia de la valiente Clara que se enfrenta al Rey Ratón, acto seguido la historia cobra vida al estilo único de ¨Barbie¨ ya que la protagonista es idéntica a ella y claro algunas hadas son idénticas a Kelly. La película conserva la música original compuesta por Piotr Ilich Chaikovski, cosa que hace que se cree un vinculo mas ameno con el espectador.
This is my favorite Barbie movie and I love to dust it off when Christmas time comes around, I'm sure most of you have seen it since it's a TV classic. The plot is based on the traditional story of the Nutcracker, at the beginning Barbie is practicing with her little sister Kelly the steps for her recital, but while dancing Kelly falls and gets discouraged, so to cheer her up her sister tells her the story of the brave Clara who faces the Mouse King, then the story comes to life in the unique style of ¨Barbie¨ as the protagonist is identical to her and of course some fairies are identical to Kelly. The film preserves the original music composed by Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky, which creates a more enjoyable bond with the viewer.
Es la película ideal para ver en familia cuando llega ese frío de diciembre, acompañado de una tasa de chocolate caliente y una sabana bien calientita. Debido a su gran gama de colores fuertes y brillantes, si se mira de muy cerca puede aturdir un poco, pero es algo que se resuelve fácil y no impedirá su disfrute.
It is the ideal movie to watch with the family when the cold December weather arrives, accompanied by a cup of hot chocolate and a warm blanket. Due to its wide range of strong and bright colors, if you look too closely it can stun a little, but it is something that is easily solved and will not hinder your enjoyment.

Aunque Disney también tenga una película sobre este clásico cuento, la versión de Barbie es mucho más colorida, además de que esta también cuenta con música del compositor Piotr Ilich Chaikovski y en ella podemos ver escenas de ballet clásico para dar vida a la historia. Al parecer a Barbie le gusta contar historias ya que en esta ocasión la trama de la película también inicia con Barbie contándole a su hermana Kelly el cuento de la hermosa dama que es convertida en cine y solo el verdadero amor podrá deshacer el hechizo del malvado brujo. La protagonista muestra gran valor para ayudar a los que quiere y derrotar al mal, ademas de tener pequeños animalitos amigos que la ayudan y acompañan en todo momento.

Cada una de las princesa es representada por una flor, flores que su madre difunta plasmó en la tapa de cada uno de los cuentos que les dejó a sus hijas, esto con la pista de que lograran encontrar el reino mágico, en un giro de la trama la malvada prima del rey intenta apoderarse del reino y queda en las manos de estas doncellas salvar a su padre y a su reino.

Barbie nos trae una historia interesante sobre una princesa prometida a un matrimonio por conveniencia y una costurera que trabaja sin descanso para poder pagar las deudas heredadas por sus padres, ellas son irónicamente idénticas a no ser por su cabello, una serie de eventos hace que estas coincidan y se conozcan e intercambien vidas, luego debido a sus acciones y en un giro de la trama se ven obligadas a trabajar en equipo, dándoles la oportunidad de poder cambiar sus destinos, siendo estas libres al fin como siempre han querido, claro con la ayuda de sus nobles mascotas y guapos caballeros que no pueden faltar en las películas de Barbie.

Esta temática en la que dos chicas desconocidas de mundos distintos cruzan su camino e intercambian lugares, ha sido explotada tanto por Disney como por Netflix, sacando así múltiples películas, series y hasta algunos capítulos para series. Aunque en todas la ocasiones sabemos como termina la trama, siempre es agradable y divertida verla, sobretodo el ver como cada personaje reacciona a un mundo distinto donde obviamente está fuera de lugar.
This theme in which two unknown girls from different worlds cross paths and exchange places, has been exploited by both Disney and Netflix, bringing out multiple movies, series and even some episodes for series. Although in all the occasions we know how the plot ends, it is always nice and fun to watch it, especially to see how each character reacts to a different world where she is obviously out of place.

En esta oportunidad nos traen una idea original a pantalla sobre un mundo de hadas, además de que a esta película le fue tan bien que dio pie a secuelas y spin-offs. Toca temas como el bullying y la superación personal. Nos describen un mundo de hadas que se encuentra detrás del arco iris y por alguna razón Elina (Barbie) es la unica hada sin alas, cosa que la convierte en objeto de sus burlas, sin embargo Elina se arma de valor para salvar al mundo de las hadas de una extraña enfermedad, tomando rumbo a un lugar desconocido lleno de obstáculos inimaginables, desmostando a todos su propio valor, en esta película como en las secuelas podemos ver el poder de la magia del arco iris.

Las películas de Barbie no afectan de ninguna manera la masculinidad y mucho menos denigran a las mujeres, sin se vuelven algo tediosas cuando empiezan a cantar y hasta en algún momento si estas en compañía, da algo de pana, pero se supera fácil, además hay que admitir que muchas veces caen en lo ridículo y plástico, pero...
... Nos guata lo ridículo, es más hasta lo disfrutamos.
