Amnesia/Memento (Reseña/Review)

Leonard es un investigador de una agencia de seguros, su trabajo es ver los casos donde posiblemente las personas mientan, su vida se ve afectada al sufrir un accidente que lo hace perder la memoria constantemente, solo recuerda los sucesos antes del accidente, donde alguien asesino y violo a su esposa. Teniendo memoria a corto plazo Leonard debe buscar a su asesino, dejando pistas en todos lados de las ultimas cosas que hizo, incluso si eso significa tatuárselas en la piel.

Leonard is an investigator for an insurance agency, his job is to see the cases where possibly people lie, his life is affected by suffering an accident that makes him lose his memory constantly, he only remembers the events before the accident, where someone murdered and raped his wife. Having a short-term memory Leonard must search for her murderer, leaving clues everywhere of the last things he did, even if it means getting them tattooed on his skin.

Memento es una película de Christopher Nolan que me habían recomendado ver hace mucho tiempo, por terco nunca la busque, pero después de tanta insistencia por parte de mi pareja la vi hace poco, haciendo caso ahora a las recomendaciones que me da ella y mis conocidos. Memento es una película que llama la atención por el hecho de que va en reversa, la película empieza desde el final, y termina en el comienzo, es lo que me dijeron para que me la viera y no entendía muy bien como podía ser así, hasta que la vi y lo entendí.

La película empieza siendo algo desorganizada, siendo su encanto del principio, mostrando más adelante como fue que se llego a esa conclusión, mostrando partes sin sentido que al minuto siguiente responde a esa incógnita que aun no puede tener forma porque se soluciona al momento. Lo interesante también puede ser que el espectador puede sacar sus propias teorías en la marcha, debo decir que no pude atinar ninguna suposición, fue más allá de lo que pude imaginar en el momento y eso me encanto.

Llegue a ver que los fans hicieron un mapa mental de como van los sucesos de la película, es realmente bien elaborada, mostrando la dedicación de las personas a entender un film que se hizo con la dedicación de cautivar y poner a duda la realidad. Al principio admito que me aburrió un poco, saltando de una escena a otra, de un momento a otro, tenia que quedarme mas tiempo para poder ver lo que realmente quería mostrar el director, como quería enredar la mente del espectador.

La película al final me hizo sentir como cuando vi "El efecto mariposa" mirando a la nada intentando unir los fragmentos, otra película que me hizo sentir así fue "El prestigio" de esa me acuerdo bastante por ser una de mis películas favoritas, casualmente también hecha por Christopher Nolan.

La película fue estrenada en el año 2000, tiene una duración de casi dos horas y se encuentra actualmente en Netflix, así que no pierdan el tiempo y vayan a verla para empezar a armar su propio mapa mental de sucesos de la película.

Memento is a film by Christopher Nolan that I had been recommended to see a long time ago, because I was stubborn I never looked for it, but after so much insistence on the part of my partner I saw it recently, now heeding the recommendations that she and my acquaintances give me. Memento is a film that draws attention due to the fact that it goes in reverse, the film begins from the end, and ends at the beginning, is what they told me to see it and I did not understand very well how it could be like that, until I saw it and understood it.

The film begins being somewhat disorganized, being its charm from the beginning, showing later how it was that conclusion was reached, showing nonsensical parts that the next minute answers that unknown that still cannot be shaped because it is solved at the moment. The interesting thing may also be that the viewer can draw his own theories on the air, I must say that I could not hit any assumption, it was beyond what I could imagine at the time and I loved that.

I got to see that the fans made a mental map of how the events of the film are going, it is really well elaborated, showing the dedication of people to understand a film that was made with the dedication to captivate and question reality. At first I admit that it bored me a bit, jumping from one scene to another, from one moment to another, I had to stay longer to see what the director really wanted to show, how he wanted to confuse the viewer's mind.

The movie at the end made me feel like when I saw "The butterfly effect" looking at nothing trying to unite the fragments, another film that made me feel like that was "The prestige" of that I remember a lot for being one of my favorite films, coincidentally also made by Christopher Nolan.

The movie was released in 2000, lasts for almost two hours, and is currently on Netflix, so don't waste time and go watch it to start putting together your own mind map of the movie's events.
