Wounds - What would you do to stop feeling hollow? | Impressions and film review (eng-esp)

Hello, living beings who feel empty inside but are afraid to accept it! Recently I saw this movie after having it downloaded on Netflix for almost a month; I did not remember what it was about, nor who was there, but I decided to see it because I was bored and after watching it I only have two things clear: it is a bad movie, and I love it, although I also hate it.

All the things that make a good movie are missing here, a good developed plot that maybe you can understand, good performances or even decent ones, maybe a soundtrack that helps you pass the time, more interesting situations, in short, none of that exists in this movie, but it has some things that save it, don't make it good, but make it a good movie among all the bad movies existing.

¡Hola, seres vivos que se sienten vacíos por dentro pero tienen miedo de aceptarlo! Hace poco vi esta película después de tenerla descargada en Netflix por casi un mes; no recordaba sobre qué era, ni quienes estaban, pero decidí verla porque estaba aburrido y después de verla solo tengo dos cosas claras: es una mala película, y la amo, aunque también la odio.

Todas las cosas que hacen buena a una película hacen falta aquí, una buena trama desarrollada que quizás se puede entender, actuaciones buenas o aunque sea decentes, quizás un soundtrack que te ayude a pasar el tiempo, situaciones más interesantes, en fin, nada de eso existe en esta película, pero tiene varias cosas que la salvan, no la hacen buena, pero la hacen una película buena entre todas las películas malas existentes.

The idea to make this movie seems to come out of nowhere, but it doesn't, it has more meanings than a dictionary and they were all well used on screen, but being so many and maybe a little complicated they make the movie boring or difficult to follow, because if it had an appeal beyond all the symbolism it hides it would be an unprecedented movie.

Practically the story revolves around Will (Armie Hammer), the bartender of a seedy bar, who one day during a fight in the bar some college kids drop a phone and leave, he picks it up and takes it home hoping to return it as soon as possible, and he succeeds, but not before everything has already gone to hell in his life. It's weird, but I'm not afraid to say some spoiler here because even I don't understand it very well

La idea para hacer esta película parece sacada de la nada, pero no es así, tiene más significados que un diccionario y todas estuvieron bien empleadas en pantalla, pero al ser tantas y quizás un poco complicadas hacen que la película sea aburrida o difícil de seguir, porque si tuviera un atractivo más allá de todo el simbolismo que oculta sería una película sin precedentes.

Prácticamente la historia gira en torno a Will (Armie Hammer), el bartender de un bar de mala muerte, que un día durante una pelea en el bar unos universitarios dejan caer un teléfono y se van, él lo recoge y se lo lleva a su casa esperando devolverlo lo más pronto posible, y lo logra, pero no antes de que todo ya se haya ido al infierno en su vida. Es raro, pero no tengo miedo de decir algún spoiler aquí porque ni siquiera yo lo entiendo muy bien.

Will manages to unlock the phone and the things he finds are disturbing, images of decapitated heads and one in particular that has something living inside that throbs and moves. It was very rare to see that, but I loved it, the film is bad in general, but it has moments where it is impossible to look away. After Will sees all that and shows it to his girlfriend, who I already forgot her name in the movie, but it's Dakota Johnson, everything goes straight to hell in his life.

He begins to have visions, has nightmares where he talks to a being from another world, is spied on in his own house, becomes a completely irascible person who explodes with the least provocation, loses his job, ends up with his girlfriend and has to look for a new place to stay, in short, the life he had is lost in just a few days and he can't do anything about it, except accept his destiny.

Will logra desbloquear el teléfono y las cosas que encuentra son preocupantes, imágenes de cabezas decapitadas y una en específico que tiene algo viviente adentro que palpita y sse mueve. Fue muy raro ver eso, pero me encantó, la película es mala en general, pero tiene momentos donde es imposible apartar la mirada. Después que Will ve todo eso y se lo muestra a su novia, que ya se me olvidó el nombre de ella en la película, pero es Dakota Jhonson, todo se va directo a la mierda en su vida.

Comienza a tener visiones, tiene pesadillas donde habla con un ser de otro mundo, es espiado en su propia casa, se convierte en una persona completamente irascible que explota con la mínimo provocación, pierde su trabajo, termina con su novia y tiene que buscar un nuevo lugar para poder quedarse, en fin, la vida que tenía se pierde en tan solo días y no puede hacer nada para solucionarlo, excepto, aceptar su destino.

One of my favorite things about the movie is the sound discomfort it has, there is not a single second of the movie that has silence, not a single second, there is always a background noise as if it were a water flow, or we were inside a refrigerator, or next to an air conditioner, or with a fan with an incessant noise that is driving us crazy with every second that passes. That background noise and the exaggeration of the rest of the sounds, because every step, every blow, every crash of the beer bottles, every drop of alcohol served is heard as if they were doing it in front of you, all those sounds were the ones that motivated me to watch the movie.

I would have stopped watching the movie after fifteen minutes, the pitiful performances and the lack of something interesting to pay attention to was too much, but that noise made me watch it completely and I don't regret it, because now I love that movie.

Una de mis cosas favoritas de la película es la incomodidad sonora que tiene, no hay un solo segundo de la película que tenga silencio, ni un solo segundo, siempre hay un ruido de fondo como si fuera una corriente de agua, o estuviéramos dentro de un refrigerador, o al lado de un aire acondicionado, o con un ventilador con un ruido incesante que nos va volviendo locos con cada segundo que pasa. Ese ruido de fondo y la exageración del resto de los sonidos, porque cada paso, cada golpe, cada choque de las botellas de cervezas, cada gota de alcohol servida se escucha como si lo estuvieran haciendo frente a ti, todos esos sonidos fueron los que me motivaron ver la película.

Hubiera dejado de ver la película a los quince minutos, las actuaciones tan lamentables y la falta de algo interesante a la que prestarle atención era demasiado, pero ese ruido me hizo verla completa y no me arrepiento, porque ahora amo esa película.

Another thing I love about this film is how grotesque and disgusting it can be, how disturbing, how hopeless and repulsive. There are very few moments where this happens, there are images that are superimposed and sometimes they place an image that doesn't last a second and the scene remains normal, like a fleeting thought that passes through Will's mind and we are able to see it but we don't fully understand what is happening.

If you want to see this movie after all you have to be willing to endure an incessant background sound that never disappears, flashes of images that you don't quite know what they are, meanings and symbolisms that you are going to have to investigate elsewhere, an excess of cockroaches throughout the movie, especially in the final scene, I'm not lying when I say that it made me want to vomit.

Otra de las cosas que amo de esta película es lo grotesca y asquerosa que puede llegar a ser, lo inquietante, lo desesperante y repulsiva. Son muy pocos los momentos donde esto sucede, hay imágenes superpuestas y a veces colocan una imagen que no dura ni un segundo y la escena siga normal, como un pensamiento fugaz que pasa por la mente de Will y nosotros somos capaces de verlo pero no entendemos del todo lo que está sucediendo.

Si quieren ver esta película después de todo tienen que estar dispuestos a soportar un sonido incesante de fondo que nunca desaparece, flashes de imágenes que no se sabe del todo qué son, significados y simbolismos que van a tener que investigar en otra parte, un exceso de cucarachas durante toda la película, en especial en la escena final, no miento al decir que me dieron ganas de vomitar.

I love that eye, I can't stop looking at it. Anyway, here I am going to leave you the trailer but before that I am going to try to explain a little bit the title of the movie and the reason for the question I am asking. Everything that begins to happen in Will's life is because he is an empty person, the girlfriend refers to him as 'a mock person', a false person, the simulation of what a human being is on the outside while on the inside he is completely empty. Now the name Wounds is because everything that happens to Will, besides being a mock person, is because the college kids at the beginning of the movie woke up to a being from another world, who uses wounds to transcend and learn more about existence. Now, here is the trailer and I'm not telling you to go see the movie, but if you want to, do it.

Amo ese ojo, no puedo dejar de mirarlo. En fin, aquí les voy a dejar el trailer pero antes de eso les voy a tratar de explicar un poco el título de la película y el por qué de la pregunta que hago. Todo lo que comienza a suceder en la vida de Will es porque es una persona vacía, la novia se refiere a él como 'a mock person', una persona falsa, la simulación de lo que es un ser humano por fuera mientras que por dentro está completamente vacía. Ahora el nombre de Heridas es porque todo lo que le sucede a Will, además de ser una persona hueca, es porque los universitarios del principio de la película despertaron a un ser de otro mundo, que usa las heridas para trascender y aprender más sobre la existencia. Ahora sí, aquí les dejo el trailer y no les digo que vayan a ver la película, pero si quieren, háganlo.
