Antiviral - Would you buy a disease? | Impressions and film review

I'm so excited, living beings! For months I wanted to tell you about this movie, but as usual, my brain didn't help me, I can forget a whole movie and watch it again, and I can also remember a movie completely and forget the name. Antiviral! That was the name of the movie, I finally remembered it and started looking for the images, the trailer and started writing this to share it with you.

I have to clarify, although I shouldn't, this is a bad movie, although I love it completely and the flaws don't interest me at all and at this moment none come to my mind worth mentioning; I should also mention that it is not a movie for weak stomachs, if any sign of blood, flesh, diseases, and organs causes you repulsion, don't even think of watching this movie.

¡Estoy emocionado, seres vivos! Desde hace meses quería hablarles de esta película, pero como siempre, mi cerebro no me ayudaba, puedo olvidar toda una película y volver a verla, y también puedo recordar una película por completo y olvidar el nombre. ¡Antiviral! Ese era el nombre de la película, por fin lo recordé y comencé a buscar las imágenes, el trailer y comencé a escribir esto para compartirla con ustedes.

Tengo que hacer la aclaración, aunque no debería, esta es una película mala, aunque yo la amo por completo y los defectos no me interesan en absoluto y en este momento no se me viene ninguno a la mente digno de mencionar; también debo mencionar que no es una película para estómagos débiles, si cualquier muestra de sangre, carne, enfermedades y órganos les causa repulsión, ni se les ocurra ver esta película.

I have an unhealthy love for this movie, and graphically I fell in love with it and at the same time it made me want to vomit, but it's more the pleasure I feel when I remember it than the disgust, so that's what won for me. I'm crazy about this movie, and even though there are many of this style, none had captivated me as much as Antiviral did.

Antiviral takes place in a futuristic dystopian reality, which to be honest, it is very possible that could happen in this universe we live in; and in that alternate reality a company was created, born, or someone who knows the unhealthy nature of human beings, founded a company that sells the diseases of celebrities. How sick does someone have to be to want to have the same disease as a celebrity? Besides having to pay for the diseases, it's so weird that it makes me disgusted but I love it even more.

Ahora sí, le tengo un amor insano a esta película y es que gráficamente me enamoró y a la vez me dio ganas de vomitar, pero es más el placer que siento al recordarla que el asco, así que eso es lo que ganó para mí. Estoy loco por esta película, y a pesar de que hay muchas de este estilo, ninguna me había cautivado tanto como lo hizo Antiviral.

Antiviral tiene lugar en una realidad distópicá futurista, que siendo sincero, es muy posible que llegue a ocurrir en este universo en el que vivimos; y en esa realidad alterna se creó, nació, o alguien que conoce la naturaleza insana de los seres humanos, fundó una empresa que vende las enfermedades de los famosos. ¿Qué tan enfermo tiene que estar alguien para querer tener la misma enferdad que un famoso? Además de tener que pagar por las enfermedades, es tan bizarro que me disgusta pero me encanta más.

Another strange thing, although they are already normalized in this reality, is the sale of the flesh of celebrities, it is too weird, very much, but I love it more than I dislike it, there are stores, I do not remember if they are clandestine, that through a process that I do not remember, they grow the flesh and organs of people, in this case, celebrities, and sell them to the public without any problem, always having requests from the most popular celebrity of the day.

Anyway, now I am going to talk about the main story of this movie; the plot will revolve around one of the workers of the company that sells the diseases, Syd, and how he sells by smuggling the diseases of celebrities using his own body as a host, that is, he gets sick and then isolates the diseases and sells them on the black market.

Otra de las cosas extrañas, aunque ya están normalizadas en esa realidad, es la venta de la carne de los famosos, es demasiado raro, muchísimo, pero me encanta más de lo que me disgusta, hay tiendas, no recuerdo si son clandestinas, que a través de un proceso que no recuerdo, hacen crecer la carne y órganos de las personas, en este caso, famosos, y se las venden al público sin problema alguno, siempre teniendo peticiones del famoso más popular de turno.

En fin, ahora les voy a hablar de la historia principal de esta película; la trama va a girar en torno de uno de los trabajadores de la empresa que vende las enfermedades, Syd, y cómo él vende por contrabando las enfermedades de los famosos usando su propio cuerpo como huesped, es decir, que él se enferma y después aísla las enfermedades y las vende en el mercado negro.

At least those were Syd's intentions, to keep getting infected and then selling the diseases, but everything has an unexpected turn when he is sent to acquire the disease of one of the biggest famous women of that year, Hannah Geist; as expected, he also got infected with that disease, and a few days later he finds out that she died and they don't know the reasons, so his disease starts to be studied and its sale is forbidden.

Syd has to start looking for a cure and study the disease to get out of there alive, but I'm not going to tell you more because it would be a spoiler, I LOVE THIS MOVIE! This world where fans can do anything to look like or become as close as possible to the celebrities they adore in such a sick way is fascinating, I wish it was a series or had more movies, I need to see more of this.

Al menos esas eran las intenciones de Syd, seguir infectándose y después vendiendo las enfermedades, pero todo tiene un giro inesperado cuando lo envían a adquirir la enfermedad de una de las mayores mujeres famosas de ese año, Hannah Geist; como era de esperarse, se infectó también con esa enfermedad, y a los días se entera de que ella murió y no saben las razones, así que su enfermedad comienza a ser estudiada y se prohibe su venta.

Syd tiene comenzar a buscar una cura y estudiar a la enfermedad para poder salir con vida de ahí, pero no les voy a seguir contando más cosas porque sería spolier. ¡AMO ESTA PELÍCULA! Este mundo donde los fanáticos pueden llegar a hacer cualquier cosa para parecerce o llegar a ser lo más cercanos posibles a los famosos que adoran de una manera tan enferma es fascinante, ojalá fuera una serie o tuviera más películas, necesito ver más de esto.

I ask you this question, would you buy a disease? The most common diseases they buy in the movie are sexually transmitted diseases, specifically herpes, but there are people that fanaticism leads them to acquire very serious diseases just because they love and adore the celebrity who had it.

Currently, and I think since always, but in recent years the fans have had a kind of psychotic outbreak and can do any atrocity in the name of their idols, murder and torture I think has been the most excessive of what I've heard, but from cyberbullying towards those who say anything against their idols, self-mutilation, shaving their hair, and even tattoos on their faces; well, if there are currently people who do that, I wouldn't be surprised if at some point someone starts selling the diseases of today's most acclaimed idols.

Les hago esta pregunta, ¿comprarían ustedes una enfermedad? Las enfermedades más comunes que compran en la película son las enfermedades de transmisión sexual, en específico el herpes, pero hay personas que el fanatismo los lleva a adquirir enfermedades muy graves solo porque aman y adoran al famoso que la tuvo.

Actualmente, y creo que desde siempre, pero en los últimos años los fanáticos han tenido una especie de brote psicótico y pueden llegar a hacer cualquier atrocidad en nombre de sus ídolos, asesinatos y torturas creo que ha sido lo más excesivo de lo que me he enterado, pero desde el acoso cibernético hacia los que dicen cualquier cosa en contra de sus ídolos, la automutilación, afeirtarse por completo el cabello, e incluso realizarse tatuajes en el rostro; en fin, si actualmente hay personas que hacen eso, no me sorprendería que en algún momento alguien comience a vender las enfermedades de los ídolos más aclamados actualmente.

I was going to talk about the director, Brandon Cronenberg, but first I'm going to see some of his films that I'm missing to finish getting a general idea of his work, so I'm going to leave it for a future publication; I still tell you that I love his work, although many people don't like it and it deals with themes that may not be out of the conventional, which they are, but they are more weird and repulsive than anything else and that alienates a lot of people who have no tolerance to see them.

Here's the trailer! I love this movie and I won't stop saying it. I love the monochromatic way it's made, using mostly just the colors red, white, black, and gray; I love Caleb Landry Jones, the actor who plays Syd; I love that it tackles the subject of fanaticism taking it to a limit that I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a reality, I love it completely.

Les iba a hablar del director, Brandon Cronenberg, pero primero voy a ver unas películas de él que me faltan para terminar de hacerme una idea general de su trabajo, así que lo voy a dejar para una próxima publicación; igual les digo que amo su trabajo, aunque a muchas personas no les guste y trate temas quizá no fuera de lo convencional, que sí lo son, pero son más raros y repulsivos que otra cosa y eso aleja a muchísima gente que no tiene tolerancia para verlas.

¡Aquí les dejo el trailer! Amo esta película y no dejaré de decirlo. Amo la forma monocromática en la que está hecha, usando casi siempre solo los colores rojo, blanco, negro y gris; amo a Caleb Landry Jones, el actor que interpreta a Syd; amo que aborde el tema del fanatismo llevándolo a un límite que no me sorprendería si llega a hacerse realidad, la amo por completo.
