12 suicidal teens - Did you wanted to kill yourself when you were a teenager? | Film review (eng-esp)

Hello, creatures who want to die but do not accept it! Today I am going to talk to you about this movie, 12 suicidal teens, I have wanted to see it for many months, but something stopped me, I don't know if I expected too much or too little from this movie and that's why I avoided seeing it, but finally I decided to do it in one of those moments where I just want to see something to avoid getting into an endless spiral of thoughts.

As the title will have made you think, this film is about 12 suicidal teenagers who, thanks to a website created by one of them, manage to contact each other and decide to meet in a hospital to commit suicide together, leaving a general suicide note for the city.

¡Hola, seres que quieren morir pero no lo aceptan! Hoy les voy a hablar sobre esta película, 12 adolescentes suicidas, hace muchos meses que quería verla, pero algo me detenía, no sé si esperaba mucho o muy poco de esta película y por eso evitaba verla, pero al fin decidí hacerlo en unos de esos momentos donde solo quiero ver algo para evitar entrar en una espiral de pensamientos sin fin.

Como el título ya les habrá hecho pensar, esta película trata sobre 12 adolescentes suicidas que gracias a una página web creada por uno de ellos logran contactarse y decide reunirse en un hospital para suicidarse juntos, dejando una nota de suicidio general para la ciudad.

I have to give you a warning, it's one of the slowest movies I've ever seen, and I liked it a lot, but it has many things that make it unbelievable, most events feel forced even though they flow like a river in summer. It's good, but it's more bad than good, although that doesn't influence at all that I liked it, bad movies haunt me and I learned to appreciate them a long time ago.

This mystery film, this thriller is as far-fetched as it gets, so much so that even if you are paying attention to it you will get confused, just so that one of them will reveal all the secrets with a skill worthy of Sherlock Holmes.

Tengo que darles el aviso, es una de las películas más lentas que he visto, y me gustó mucho, pero tiene muchas cosas que la hacen inverosímil, la mayoría de los sucesos se sienten forzados aunque fluyan como un río en verano. Es buena, pero es más mala que buena, aunque eso no influye para nada en que me haya gustado, las películas malas me persiguen y hace mucho tiempo aprendí a apreciarlas.

Esta película de misterio, este thriller es de lo más rebuscado que puede llegar a ser, tanto así que incluso aunque le estés prestando atención vas a confundirte, tan solo para que uno de ellos revele todos los secretos con una habilidad digna de Sherlock Holmes.

The problems of these 12 teenagers begin when they gather in the room where the meeting will take place and discover that the body of a thirteenth person is in one of the beds designated for each of them, as they do not know where it came from they decide to call it 0, and with the passage of time they discover that it was not a suicide, but a murder, so they decide to find out which of the 12 is the murderer before continuing with their plans to commit suicide.

The whole day goes by while they investigate, talking, conversing, sharing the reasons that led them to want to kill themselves that day with others, gradually opening their hearts and revealing the true personality that each of them hides for fear of creating emotional ties that would lead them to interrupt their plans.

Los problemas de estos 12 adolescentes comienzan cuando se reúnen en la habitación donde se llevará a cabo la reunión y descubren que el cadáver de una decimotercera persona se encuentra en una de las camas designadas para cada uno de ellos, como no saben su procedencia deciden llamarlo 0, y con el transcurso del tiempo descubren que no fue un suicido, si no un asesinato, por lo que deciden descubrir cuál de los 12 es el asesino antes de continuar con sus planes para suicidarse.

Todo el día se va mientras ellos investigan, hablando, conversando, compartiendo las razones que los llevaron a querer suicidarse ese día con los demás, abriendo poco a poco sus corazones y revelando la verdadera personalidad que cada uno de ellos esconde por miedo a crear lazos afectivos que los llevarían a interrumpir sus planes.

One of my favorite things about the film is the natural way it deals with suicide, they are never ashamed of the decision to commit suicide, they defend their position and for me it is impossible not to understand them because no matter what the reason is, the feeling of wanting to end it all is the same and I have shared this feeling for many years.

Since cancer, harassment, herpes, suicide and murder committed by some of them are some of the reasons why they decide to end their lives; there is the stigma that only situations where there is no other way out but death is the only reason why someone should commit suicide or is the only reason why today's society accepts that someone can commit suicide without even insulting him or her after death.

Una de mis cosas favoritas de la película es la naturalidad con la que aborda el suicidio, ellos nunca están avergonzados de la decisión de suicidarse, defienden su posición y para mí es imposible no entenderlos pues no importa el motivo, el sentimiento de querer acabar con todo es el mismo y yo también lo comparto desde hace muchos años.

Desde el cáncer, el acoso, herpes, el suicidio y el asesinato cometido por alguno de ellos son unas de las razones por las que deciden acabar con sus vidas; existe el estigma de que solo las situaciones donde no hay otra salida más allá que la muerte es el único motivo por el que alguien debe suicidarse o es la única razón por la que la sociedad actual acepta que alguien pueda suicidarse sin llegar a insultarlo incluso después de muerto.

This film breaks with that paradigm, any reason can be enough for someone to want to end his life and it must be respected, it is his life, no one owes anything to anyone, no one asked to be born, no one signed a contract accepting that he wanted the responsibility to exist in a world like this, no one has to accept all the bad things that happen to him and that gradually end up with the joy and the will to live that someone can have and that fade away with time.

Photography is very good, the camera tells more things than we can perceive and that in due time come back to us to clarify the situation; with an extremely cold and depressive color palette they immerse us in a dark and decadent atmosphere where we feel smaller and smaller, surrounded by situations that we cannot control and that surpass us.

Esta película rompe con ese paradigma, cualquier razón puede ser suficiente para que alguien quiera acaba con su vida y hay que respetarlo, es su vida, nadie le debe nada a nadie, nadie pidió nacer, nada firmó un contrato aceptando que quería la responsabilidad de existir en un mundo como este, nadie tiene por qué aceptar todas las cosas malas que le suceden y que van acabando poco a poco con la alegría y las ganas de vivir que alguien puede llegar a tener y que se desvanecen con el tiempo.

La fotografía es muy buena, la cámara cuenta más cosas de las que podemos llegar a percibir y que en su momento vuelven a nosotros para aclarar la situación; con una paleta de colores sumamente fría y depresiva nos sumergen en un ambiente oscuro y decaído donde nos sentimos cada vez más pequeños, rodeados de situaciones que no podemos controlar y nos superan.

Since it is such a slow movie, it doesn't matter if the performances are good, not everybody likes it, so take your precautions if you decide to watch it, don't do it at night with sleep because you will surely fall asleep. It has more good things than bad things, but the bad things are so punctual and focused that they don't let the good things stand out. An easy to follow narrative thread would have been better, but then the mystery would not be the same.

I recommend them if you want to spend your time philosophizing a little bit with teenagers (premature adults) who are just starting to live and already have in their history more things than any adult could bear, here I leave you the trailer and I hope you enjoy it.

Al ser una película tan lenta, no importa que las actuaciones sean buenas, no a todo el mundo les gusta, así que tomen sus precauciones si deciden verla, no lo hagan en la noche con sueño porque seguramente se van a quedar dormidos. Tiene más cosas buenas que malas, pero las malas son tan puntuales y enfocadas que no dejan que lo bueno resalte. Un hilo narrativo fácil de seguir hubiera sido mejor, pero entonces el misterio no sería el mismo.

Se las recomiendo si quieren pasar el rato filosofando un poco con adolescentes (adultos prematuros) que apenas están comenzando a vivir y ya tienen en su historial más cosas de las que cualquier persona adulta podría llegar a soportar, aquí les dejo el trailer y espero que la disfruten.
