Darkness, deep in a distorted reality between the past, the present and the future. Netflix's DARK is extremely magnificent. Science fiction, drama and tragedy converge in a single thread that bends and alters like time itself. Winden, that's what they call the town caught in a series of conflicts in a time loop. The origin has never been so difficult to decipher and destroy. Who started it all? Who is the real culprit for such a chain of events that is repeated over and over again? The end is the beginning, the beginning is the end. There is no starting point, everything just mixes and weaves together, and each piece finds its destination on the path it takes to avoid it. Careful! Time is not easy to control, nor is it a toy that you can manipulate at will.
I generally watch more television series on HBO than on Netflix, particularly since in the latter I had not found a story that really captivated me... until now. When I first heard of Dark and its complex plot, I rushed back to Netflix. I came across all three seasons now available, so feel free to check them out. This dark drama undoubtedly caught me so much that I watched it in just 3 days. The complexity of the plot and the main conflict discerned in the hypothetical world of time travel and time loops. Unlike Back to the Future and Interstellar, films that also address this aspect, Dark focuses on much more complex Einstein fields of relativity, including paradoxes and theories about the God particle, dark matter and wormholes. Sounds a lot like physics, doesn't it? All these assumptions are part of the framework that contains the story of Dark and four families connected to the complexity of a completely unhinged space-time.

Generalmente veo más series de televisión por HBO que por Netflix, particularmente porque en éste último no había encontrado una historia que realmente me cautivara… hasta ahora. Cuando oí por primera vez de Dark y su trama compleja, me precipité a volver a Netflix. Me encontré con las tres temporadas ya disponibles, así que no dude en mirarlas. Este drama oscuro, sin duda, me atrapó tanto que lo vi en solo 3 días. La complejidad del argumento y el conflicto principal discernían en el hipotético mundo de los viajes en el tiempo y los bucles temporales. A diferencia de Volver al Futuro y Interestelar, películas que también abordan este aspecto, Dark se centra en campos de la relatividad de Einstein mucho más complejos, incluyendo paradojas y teorías sobre la partícula de Dios, la materia oscura y los agujeros de gusanos. ¿Suena mucho a física no? Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar are the creators of this complex television series of German origin, which first saw the light in 2017. Despite the fact that most of the characters are teenagers, the story is far from being youth. With a very deep and elaborate plot, Friese and Odar show us how difficult it can be to play with time. Dark is much more than 48 minutes of entertainment, because after you see an intro full of mirrors and colors, announcing the division of worlds to which the characters are subjected, you have a very difficult task: think and enjoy at the same time. This was what I liked the most about this television series. It is not an easy story to decipher, you even draw your own theories and conclusions.

Jantje Friese y Baran bo Odar son los creadores de esta compleja serie de televisión de origen alemán, la cual vio la luz por primera vez en 2017. A pesar de que la mayor parte de los personajes son adolescentes, la historia está muy lejos de ser juvenil. Con una trama muy profunda y elaborada, Friese y Odar nos muestran lo difícil que puede ser jugar con el tiempo. Dark es mucho más que 48 minutos de entretenimiento, porque luego de que vez un intro repleto de espejos y colores, anunciando la división de mundos a los que están sometidos los personajes, te toca una tarea muy difícil: pensar y disfrutar al mismo tiempo. Esto fue lo que más me gustó de esta serie de televisión. No es una historia fácil de descifrar, incluso sacas tus propia teorías y conclusiones.

Sin duda, este aspecto es lo que más me encanta de una historia y Dark se convierte una clase de Einstein para nosotros. Al final, te saldrá más de una cana hallando una explicación lógica a tantos eventos que parecen no tener una solución evidente. My opinion on Dark

Dark is one of those stories that hook you from the first moment. You don't need those long hours of filler to get familiar with the characters, let alone wait 5 chapters for the action and drama to come to life. In this television series everything happens from the first 5 seconds, because each fragment of the work is essential for the full development of the plot. This is an achievement that encourages the viewer to stick to the screen, to draw theories, to decipher mysteries and to promote hypotheses. You become a character, that is, nothing will pass through your mind but discover what is the origin of all the entanglement of time that Dark presents before your eyes and senses. If you miss a detail like this you blink, you will have to re-set the scene, because every second of the story is essential for you to understand the mess of Jonas and the entire combo of characters included.
Three seasons were enough to provide us with an exceptional work assembled, carefully structured and ambitious in its objectives. As a fan of time travel, I liked the subtly realistic and original twist that Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar put on the perception of time travel. Dark mixes the past, the present and the future under a single timeline, everything connects, yesterday is a fundamental part of tomorrow and vice versa, with a much more complex touch when addressing the different lineages of the 4 families that are the main axis. Of the plot. Everything is a circle, just a vector that returns to the original point. And although everything seems difficult and almost impossible to solve, the resolution that Friese and Odar give to this television series is much more simple and unpredictable than you imagine.
Dark es una de esas historias que te enganchan desde el primer momento. Ni necesitas esas largas horas de relleno para familiarizarte con los personajes, ni mucho menos esperar 5 capítulos para que la acción y el drama cobren vida. En esta serie de televisión todo transcurre desde los primeros 5 segundos, porque cada fragmento de la obra es fundamental para el pleno desarrollo de la trama. Esto es un logro que impulsa al espectador a pegarse a la pantalla, a sacar teorías, a descifrar misterios e impulsar hipótesis. Te vuelves un personaje, es decir, por tu mente no pasará más nada que descubrir cuál es el origen de todo el enredo del tiempo que Dark presenta ante tus ojos y sentidos. Si te pierdes de un detalle así pestañees, deberás volver a poner la escena, porque cada segundo de la historia es imprescindible para que vayas entendiendo el embrollo de Jonas y todo el combo de personajes incluidos.
Tres temporadas fueron suficientes para brindarnos una obra excepcional armada, cuidadosamente estructurada y ambiciosa en sus objetivos. Como fan de los viajes en el tiempo, me gustó el toque sutilmente realista y original que Jantje Friese y Baran bo Odar le dieron a la percepción de los viajes en el tiempo. Dark mezcla el pasado, el presente y el futuro bajo una sola línea temporal, todo se conecta, el ayer es parte fundamental del mañana y viceversa, con un toque mucho más complejo al abordar los diferentes linajes de las 4 familias que son el eje principal de la trama. Todo es un círculo, simplemente un vector que regresa al punto original. Y aunque todo parece difícil y casi imposible de resolver, la resolución que Friese y Odar le dan a esta serie de televisión es mucho más sencilla e impredecible de lo que te imaginas.

After watching the entire series, I have no doubt that Dark has been one of the best achievements in the Netflix repertoire.
Otra de las características dignas de elogiar de esta historia es la mezcla entre el concepto de las diferentes dimensiones y el paralelismo de las realidades que se van formando con la grieta en el espacio-tiempo, algo que no veía desde hace muchísimo tiempo en una serie de televisión. La premisa se separa ligeramente de la ciencia ficción Américana, al abordar algo más que las máquinas del tiempo y el cambio de algún hecho que éstas suponen. Si bien Dark maneja el criterio universal de los viajes en el tiempo, busca concentrar su argumento no en la consecuencia, sino en la causa. Hay múltiples formas de viajar al pasado o al futuro, incluso volver al presente, desde un túnel subterráneo hasta una gran masa negra suspendida de materia oscura. Hay una mayor diversidad de objetos que permiten romper el cerco del tiempo, y eso resulta muy interesante. Después de ver la serie completa, no me queda duda de que Dark ha sido uno de los mejores logros en el repertorio de Netflix.

Si eres amante del drama y la ciencia ficción, no dudes en pasarte por Winden. Es un pueblo algo misterioso, repleto de familias misteriosas a las que les gusta jugar mucho con el tiempo. Eso sí, deberás llevar una linterna que alumbre tu camino, porque la oscuridad siempre está al asecho. Hallarás suspenso, tragedia, algo de romance y un bucle infernal cuyo origen deberás descifrar. Ten cuidado, hay muchos enemigos. Algunos quieren destruirlo y otros conservarlo ¿qué elegirás tu? El final es el principio, el principio es el final… todo se repite, una y otra vez. Tantos misterios alberga el tiempo en sus haberes, no podemos huir del reloj ni viajando a la velocidad de la luz. Una vez que te infiltres en Dark, ya no podrás escapar de ella…

Los creadores tienen están en pre producción de dos nuevas series para netflix y espero que sean alucinantes, quizás no como Dark, pero que sean buenas producciones.
Si, he oído de esto. Has visto alguna vez Stranger Things? Después de ver Dark me enteré de que había otra serie muy parecida. Al comprarla, noté que está comparación era apenas sutil. Me han dicho de otras más como Curon y Equinox, pero no sé, creo que estirar eso de los viajes en el tiempo al estilo Dark a veces resulta agobiante. Saludos.
Stranger Things es algo completamente distinto.es una americanada adolescente con temas sobrenaturales que solo busca explotar la añoranza de los años 80.
Yo no vi Dark hasta que estreno su tercera temporada porque me dijeron que era parecida a Stranger Things, algo totalmente errado.
Equinox para nada es la nueva Dark, es una treta publicitaria de Netflix, hacen esa promoción engañosa y pagan a periodistas y youtuberos para que lancen esa bola de humo.
Quizas a ti si te guste Stranger Things, yo la detesto, lo único que salvo de ella es el grupo de actores jovenes, varios serán grandes estrellas a mediano plazo. Ya la chica esta que hizo de Elona Holmes esta disfrutando las miles del éxito.
En lo particular solo vi la primera temporada de Stranger Things, después de ver Dark también noté que eran muy distintas salvo a una que otra desaparición. Stranger Things es ese homenaje reiterativo a las nostálgica época de los 80, donde un montón de niñatos juegan a ser los héroes. Bueno, no es que tenga nada en contra de la ciencia ficción de Stranger, pues a comparación con Dark son historias perpendiculares y no paralelas. Apuesto a que Netflix siga renovando conceptos y que no use sus éxitos más conocidos para desgastarlos en series repetitivas y algo sobre valoradas. Ojalá no me equivoque...
