[ESP/ENG] DUNKIRK; The Event That Shaped Our World || Movie Review

Christopher Nolan nos traslada a los años 40, dándonos una narración a través de su perspectiva sobre la segunda guerra mundial más específicamente de la batalla de Dunkerque, Francia.

Christopher Nolan takes us back to the 1940s, giving us a narrative through his perspective on World War II, more specifically the battle of Dunkirk, France.

Ambientada en la Segunda Guerra Mundial e inspirada en un hecho real, Dunkerque recrea parte de la Operación Dinamo (una complicada maniobra que buscaba la evacuación de cientos de miles de soldados aliados, rodeados de tropas enemigas en las costas de Dunkerque). Para esto, Nolan despliega la historia en 3 ambientes diferentes; aire, tierra y agua.

En este filme hay lo que se llama un reparto coral un grupo de protagonistas que tiene el mismo peso e importancia en el desarrollo de la trama. Por un lado tenemos los cadetes en la playa, en el mar un hombre que busca atender la llamada de rescate del gobierno y en el aire tenemos un grupo de pilotos que buscan derribar a los enemigos antes de que estos acaben con los sobrevivientes.

Set in World War II and inspired by a real event, Dunkirk recreates part of Operation Dynamo (a complicated maneuver that sought the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of allied soldiers, surrounded by enemy troops on the shores of Dunkirk). For this, Nolan deploys the story in 3 different environments; air, land and water.

In this film there is what is called a choral cast, a group of protagonists who have equal weight and importance in the development of the plot. On the one hand we have the cadets on the beach, at sea a man who seeks to answer the government's call for rescue and in the air we have a group of pilots who seek to shoot down the enemies before they wipe out the survivors.

Lo cautivador es la trama, lo cual no relata completamente todo lo sucedido pero si nos da un enfoque diferente en ciertos aspectos. Nolan nos invade de sentimientos y emociones reflejadas en los soldados que dieron su vida en tal guerra a través de su adaptación tan fascinante.

Todos los soldados británicos temían lo peor; ser capturados. Ya que estaban más que rodeados por sus enemigos y sin ninguna salida razonable que pudieran pensar.

The captivating aspect is the plot, which does not completely relate everything that happened but gives us a different approach in certain aspects. Nolan invades us with feelings and emotions reflected in the soldiers who gave their lives in such a war through his fascinating adaptation.

All the British soldiers feared the worst; being captured. As they were more than surrounded by their enemies and with no reasonable way out that they could think of.

Vemos que Tommy, un chico joven británico y soldado se da cuenta de un barco que está rescatando a miles de soldados los cuales hacen fila, como de primordial embarcan a los heridos. Tommy y un nuevo amigo (Gibson) se escabullen en una camilla, pero para su sorpresa unos aviones enemigos bombardean las naves de rescate haciendo imposible su huida a casa. Sin embargo, ante la situación, los británicos tomaron la decisión de rescatar a sus tropas realizando la famosa misión histórica llamada “Operación Dinamo”.

Un sinfín de otros tipos de dificultades y problemas les va ocurriendo a nuestros protagonistas, uniéndose más soldados a la narración. El estilo narrativo en el cual se enfoca Nolan es lo que le da a la película un toque único y diferente, y las impactantes imágenes que nos ofrece en cada tramo de dicha película.

We see that Tommy, a young British boy and soldier notices a ship that is rescuing thousands of soldiers who are lined up, as if in primordial fashion they embark the wounded. Tommy and a new friend (Gibson) sneak out on a stretcher, but to their surprise enemy planes bomb the rescue ships making their escape home impossible. However, faced with the situation, the British decided to rescue their troops by carrying out the famous historic mission called "Operation Dynamo".

A myriad of other types of difficulties and problems occur to our protagonists, joining more soldiers to the narrative. The narrative style in which Nolan focuses is what gives the film a unique and different touch, and the shocking images that he offers us in each section of the film.

La pesadilla que vivieron los soldados en cada etapa de la película es desgarrador. Y la manera en que Nolan nos muestra tal guerra, mas la esperanza y lucha por conseguir la victoria y libertad es alucinante. Es sin duda alguna una de las mejores películas sobre la segunda guerra mundial, un hecho histórico del cual nuestros abuelos nos relatan, vistos a través de los ojos de Christopher Nolan.

The nightmare experienced by the soldiers at every stage of the film is heartbreaking. And the way Nolan shows us such a war, but the hope and struggle to achieve victory and freedom is mind-blowing. It is undoubtedly one of the best films about the Second World War, a historical fact that our grandparents tell us about, as seen through the eyes of Christopher Nolan.

El guión, la fotografía, escenografía y sus efectos especiales nos demuestra cada milímetro de caos que se pudo vivir en las playas de Francia durante la batalla de dunkerque. Puedo decir que tanto el director como los actores realizaron tan buen trabajo e interpretación de dicha guerra. Una manera de ilustrarse de tales hechos que son parte de la historia.

Dunkerque no es sólo una película mas del montón, es más real, nos muestra la guerra más allá de los conflictos con armas, Dunkikr habla de humanidad, de la esperanza, de la desesperación, del caos y la calma que se pudo vivir.

I can say that both the director and the actors did such a good job and interpretation of that war. A way to be enlightened of such facts that are part of history. The script, photography, scenery and special effects show us every millimeter of chaos that could be lived on the beaches of France during the battle of dunkerque.

Dunkirk is not just another ordinary movie, it is more real, it shows us the war beyond the conflicts with weapons, Dunkirk speaks of humanity, of hope, of despair, of chaos and the calm that could be experienced.
