I want to run with the wolves too! - Wolfwalkers Review [SPOILER FREE] [ENG/ESP]

Mi sinopsis: Una joven aprendiz de cazador deja su amada Inglaterra junto con su padre para dirigirse al distante poblado de Kilkenny, Irlanda, el cual necesita que se erradiquen los lobos que ahí acechan. Siempre llena de energía y con muchos deseos de ayudar a su padre, la joven Robyn se encontrará en una encrucijada cuya decisión cambiará su vida para siempre justo después de conocer a la salvaje y juguetona Mebh.

My synopsis: A young apprentice hunter leaves her beloved England with her father to go to the distant town of Kilkenny, Ireland, which needs the wolves lurking there to be eradicated. Always full of energy and eager to help her father, young Robyn will find herself at a crossroads whose decision will change her life forever, all of this happening right after meeting the wild and playful Mebh.

El cine de animación tradicional aún sigue vivo. Todavía se pueden encontrar verdaderas obras de arte y esta película es una de ellas sin duda. No dejo de pensar en la calidad visual tan grandiosa, la paleta de colores empleada y el estilo de animación y de fondos (estos con un nivel de detalle asombroso), jugando con la perspectiva, simetría y geometría y aplicándolas tanto en los personajes como en el ambiente que los rodea, con unos deliciosos y, en su mayoría, coloridos planos.

Traditional animation cinema is still alive. True works of art can still be found and this movie is one of them without a doubt. I keep thinking about the great visual quality, the color palette used and the style of animation and backgrounds (these with an amazing level of detail ), playing with perspective, symmetry and geometry and applying them both to the characters and to the environment that surrounds them, with delicious and mostly colorful planes.

La historia no es algo nuevo ya que se ha contado muchas veces con diferentes trasfondos. Es la forma en la que se cuenta lo que la hace memorable. La amistad entre las dos protagonistas está plasmada de una manera fluida y creíble, al punto de que en tan poco tiempo realmente te importa qué les pueda pasar a continuación y eso, para mí, es un buen desarrollo de personajes. Robyn y Mebh desbordan calidez, inocencia y valentía a la vez. El villano de la función también tiene sus momentos y cumple con su rol amenazador y psicópata. El que no sale tan bien parado es el de Sean Bean, que en este caso debe ser el padre sobreprotector y la verdad a mí me pareció un poco agotador.

The story is not something new as it has been told many times with different backgrounds. It's the way that is told that makes it memorable. The friendship between the two protagonists is embodied in a fluid and credible way, to the point that in such a short time you really care what happens to them next and that, for me, is good character development. Robyn and Mebh overflow with warmth, innocence and courage at the same time. The villain of the show also has his moments and fulfills his threatening and psychopathic role. The one who does not come out so well is Sean Bean, who in this case must be the overprotective father and the truth is I found it a bit exhausting.

Y no solo eso, el largometraje goza de una muy buena ambientación musical. Si cuentas con audífonos de buena calidad o, mejor aún, un sistema de teatro en casa, te sentirás transportado a la pintoresca localidad de Kilkenny, Irlanda, el lugar donde transcurren los hechos del largometraje (precisamente en el año 1650) además de un hermoso y “místico” bosque, pero sin lugar a dudas, el premio se lo lleva mi queridísima AURORA, quien es la que canta la pieza principal de la película, aunque eso sí, es una canción del 2015 pero que de igual manera, suena espectacular ya que fue regrabada para la película <3.

And not only that, the film has a very good musical setting. If you have good quality headphones or, better yet, a home theater system, you will feel transported to the picturesque world of Kilkenny, Ireland, the place where the events of t film take place (precisely in the year 1650) as well as a beautiful and "mystical" forest, but without a doubt, the award goes to my beloved AURORA, who is the one who sings the main piece of the film, although yes, it is a song from 2015 but in the same way, it sounds spectacular and it was rearranged for the movie <3.

La escena a la que acompaña tan genial pieza musical no solo te deja sin aliento, sino que también te provocara salir a correr sin mirar atrás, o al menos ese es el sentimiento que me genera, me llena de poder y energía.

The scene that accompanies such great piece of music not only takes your breath away, but it will also make you want to go for a run without looking back, or at least that’s the feeling it generates in me, it fills me with power and energy.

La película también tiene sus momentos de suspenso y persecución, además de aquellos momentos emotivos que hará que se te salga una lágrima o puedas llorar un poco dependiente de que tan emotivo seas. En mi caso lloré algo, en todo caso, el largometraje te dejará con una sensación de satisfacción que te hace querer más.

The movie also has its moments of suspense and persecution, in addition to those emotional moments that will make you tear or cry a little depending on how emotional you are. In my case I cried something, in any case the movie will left you with a feeling of satisfaction that makes you want more.

Este es un largometraje para disfrutar con toda la familia ya que los niños podrán disfrutar y entender sin mayor esfuerzo alguno. Tuve la oportunidad de ver la película en casa de mi primo con su esposa e hijos, y déjenme decirles que todos nosotros disfrutamos muchísimo y nos sentimos dentro de ese mundo fantástico lleno de magia y misterio, aunque obviamente, al estar ambientada en una época del pasado donde se veía normal que las mujeres, así sean niñas, deben encargarse de los quehaceres del hogar y “dejar que los hombres se encarguen del resto”. Eso no me gustó mucho.

This is a feature film to enjoy with the whole family since children will be able to enjoy and understand without much effort. I had the opportunity to see the film at my cousin's house with his wife and children, and let me tell you that all of us really enjoyed ourselves and felt inside that fantastic world full of magic and mystery, although obviously, being set in a time of the past where it was seen normal that women, even if they are little girls, should take care of the household chores and "let the men take care of the rest". I didn't like that so much.

Wolfwalkers trae consigo lo mejor de la animación tradicional en 2D y estoy muy feliz con el resultado. Pienso que es la mejor película animada del 2020, después de Soul, claro está jejeje, aunque esa es mi opinión.

Wolfwalkers brings with it the best of traditional 2D animation and I am very happy with the result. I think it is the best animated film of 2020, after Soul, of course lol, but that’s just only my opinion.
