Mushroom Monday - Fungi Highlights
Here are some fungi from this past year for this #mushroommonday
Check out these earth stars.
Here is a hexagonal polypore.
Here is some lemon disco fungi. These little discs are hard as plastic.
Now a toad on some turkeytail.
Here is some hen of the woods one of the best tasting mushrooms out there. The only catch is you have to wash the tiny little maggots off of it. I have yet to find a hen of the woods not covered in tiny little maggots lol.
Here is an octopus stinkhorn, they start out as little eggs then bust out with their tentacles.
Now for a deadly galerina marginata, these guys will kill you if you even eat just a tiny bit.
And finally a mess of crust fungi. I was hoping to post blue oysters today but my kit might be a dud. Maybe next week they will hatch.

The mushrooms are very beautiful, they look like prehistoric flowers.
Those earthstars come in a few different varieties too. I have yet to find a perfect specimen when it has just bloomed in a symetrical manner.
Beautiful pictures!
Amazing photo with mushrooms and a frog.
The frog uses mushrooms as a ladder :-)
Yeah he was trying to get away from the annoying cameraman lol. These toads are always hanging around the mushrooms, in spring there are tons of tiny babies everywhere.
🤗

Many of these I would be so thrilled to find...!!!
I do see Turkeytails and crust fungi.
🤗Fantastic photo capture of the little toad on the Turkeytail.
😯 Blue oysters .... I sure do hope they hatch for you....🤞🤞🤞!!!!
Yeah i'm giving the blue oyster block a fully submerged soak in water to get the mycelium started again. Hope it works...
