Here's my precious find from today morning, for #mushroommonday by @balticbadger

Amanita phalloides, I think. The most toxic mushroom around here.
I am feeling like a baby who have found a tasty candy, hehe. Of course we crossed our ways before, but in the past I wasnt into macro and mushroom photography yet. So... in brief, it is the 1st time I had an opportunity to shoot it. So I did my best.

A few details: it grew at my site, on the edge of my garden, under the big oak tree and very close to a water pond. So I was restricted in terms on shooting angles, but in the evening the sun lit its magic light right onto it (huge thanks to the water pond for this! otherwise the mushroom would stay in the shade).

I happily spent 20 minutes laying on my belly near it, and made a solid amount of captures, enought to make a good focus staking photo. Hope to do it later, when I will be at my desktop compy.

This is unedited photo from the 1st part (when there was no direct sunlight on it). Pretty dull, isnt it?.. I hope I could come up with something better, tho. But later! Thank you for stopping by, and dont forget also about the #fungifriday!

Is it toxic in a hallucinogenic way or deadly way?

in a pretty deadly way!

Phalloidin and amanitin (toxic components) act primarily on the liver, affecting the endoplasmic reticulum and the hepatocyte cell nucleus. Phallolysin causes the lysis of hepatocytes and blood cells. Phalloidin (10–14–10–6 mol / L) reversibly blocks the K + channels of excitable membranes, decreasing the outgoing potassium current in muscle fibers.

Under the influence of pale toadstool toxins, ATP synthesis is inhibited, lysosomes, microsomes and cell ribosomes are destroyed. As a result of a violation of the biosynthesis of protein, phospholipids, glycogen, necrosis and fatty degeneration of the liver develop.

aha. and it makes the work in 30 mins - and it is totally irreversible death (at least it is written so.. and I believe it!). and they say alcohol is harmful?! PHHHHHPHHHHHHEWWWW!

Only reversible if you can get to the one mushroom specialist 100 miles away in 30 minutes...

hmm, perhaps you need not a mushroom specialist, but a liver surgeon to make a transplantation of a bew liver, in 30 mins. (which is equial, again, to death. hehe. so its no fun mushroom!)

Meanwhile the flies that eat it are fine.

Whoa! It is crazy to me that mushrooms contain such potent toxins. Makes me wonder why they developed!
