Yes, its still November mushrooms in December. I still experience lag and the weekly reports can't catch up with the current posts in the community.

A few days ago @HiveBuzz awarded FL with a personal badge:
Anniversary! I totally forget FungiLovers have a birthday, too.
So, we may celebrate this nice rounded date today, tho it wasnt an easy year.

not a big news

A pleasure to note, that new fungi lovers still arrive. Up to date we are 430 subscribers, 78 active posters, and had 310 interactions last week. Community account reached the total power of 1981 HP (thanks to @ocd, @qwerrie, @bambuka, @keuudeip and @portal-xenna for their delegation). As you know from previous posts, FL is a part of @OCD community incubation program -- you may wanna check the link above for full details. In brief, it means @OCD encourages hiveans to post to dedicated communities by giving back nice upvotes for great posts. (OCD discord channel, in case you have questions or wanna thank back).

We just kindly ask: go for quality, instead of quantity. No need to spam over the place with low quality posts, that will get you no readers; its pointless and waste of your lifetime.

There were 2 or 3 posts recenty about a late autumn fungus Helvella crispa, aka white saddle. @faltermann from Bavaria, Germany delivered a fascinating series of shots. Dont miss his great little post, feel the cuteness of this mushroom. And a great informative post on 'Helvella crispa' we had prior to that from @marianomariano.

@bambuka shared fungi photo-impressions from visit to the lonely autumn forest. Very moody and bokehlicious shots, full of decay.

@sumon74 shared a nice looking polypore fungus from Aceh, Indonesia (series of shots). Stunning biodivercity!

Nice mushroom photo tropheys from @sketch.and.jam, a bunch of intresting posts! 🍄 mushroom fractals 🍄 no new mushrooms 🍄 slow growers 🍄 reishi update 🍄 both mushroom finds from this year, and photos of reishi that he grows himself.

Peculiar pottery from @borjan, or Cyathus stercoreus -- very fascinating fungus... but I'm not gonna retell the post, check for yourself. Same as @borjan, I am in the know of this mushroom existence, and dream of meeting it one day, holding macro lens and having a plenty of sun in the sky -- after that, my life probably will be a little bit more completed :P

@qwerrie shared some mushroom finds from a cemetery walk - if there are old trees there, you may found more then you expect, just look around well.

We do not getting too much recipes here, obviously there is a Foody community here on the Hive, as well. But sometimes we are lucky to see a wonderful recipe and a delicious photos. Recently, two very nice posts popped in!

6.jpg

...@ruta-rudens guided us to a delicious Friday lunch -- a stew made of buckwheat flakes and champignons. (Well, the champignons came from the supermarket, as the forest already covered with thick fluffy snow).

...and lucky @deerjay boasted with his lovely trophy - 5kg 'Chickens of the Wood' mushroom. He cropped enough for trying different cooking methods, and he have shared three: sautee, frying in a pan, and baking in an oven. A great well-illustrated post, worth adding to the bookmarks. I am personally happy to see it shared in FL, instead of the Foodie community.

Let me round up my review on this. Too much fungi cuteness at once may cause problems with your stomach mind well, I am not totally sure, but lets say it will be less cool, than taking carefully measured doses of visuals that are tested and recognized as safe.

And a little reminder: we have a nice fun challenge at HIVE, hold by @EwkaW

#FungiFriday!

I hope many of you will join, as there are only 2 simple rules:

  • when Friday comes, share your fungi with us! post your own, original photo/drawing/art/food/anything-at-all of any type of fungi (yes, stolen images will be checked and reported !)
  • add #fungifriday (not necessarily must be your 1st tag). that's all!
