Fungi Lovers digest -- December 2020

(Edited)

Yes, its still November mushrooms in December. I still experience lag and the weekly reports can't catch up with the current posts in the community.

not a big news

A little statistics: as of last week we are 446 subscribers, 61 active posters, and had 225 weekly interactions. (Obviously, the mushroom season is over and we will have less posts in the future months, till Summer. I hope you have prepared a good stocks to share!)

Community account reached the total power of 2130 HP (thanks to @ocd, @qwerrie, @bambuka, @keuudeip and @portal-xenna for their delegation). As you know from previous posts, FL is a part of @OCD community incubation program (check for details and the list of other communities supported). In brief, it means @OCD encourages hiveans to post to dedicated communities by giving back nice upvotes for great posts. (OCD discord channel, in case you have questions or wanna thank back).

We just kindly ask: go for quality, instead of quantity. No need to spam over the place with low quality posts, that will get you no readers; its pointless and waste of your lifetime.

@lourdeshd6 presented an irresistable beauty of Schizophyllum commune mushroom. It is well-spread and very common all over the world in different areal, I am more than sure theres a copy of it somewhere around you, as well. Check her beautiful macros. The post written both in English and Spanish. And yes, they were posted a dozen times here and bring nothing new, but they so cool!

Some kidz might were playing in the forest alone and left those cookies on the stump, and never returned for them cause, you know, forest is full of various dangers, its not a good place for children's playground. But on second sight... after careful examination, it becomes obvious the kidz are all right, and this is not cookies, but Gloeophyllum sepiarium tree mushroom - @oks2crypto managed to find out correct iD!

@ridor5301 brought in another nice find of irresistable beauty - this unidentified tree fungus from Indonesia forest is a real blooming flower. Looks very cool, and still has its strange grace even when it is wilted.

@qwerrie brought in a nice collection of 15 macro photos - various autumn mushrooms. Enjoy the nice visuals!

Let me round up my digest here, too much fungi cuteness at once may cause problems with your stomach mind well, I am not totally sure, but lets say it will be less cool, than taking carefully measured doses of visuals that are tested and recognized as safe.

And a little reminder: we have a nice fun challenge at HIVE, hold by @EwkaW

#FungiFriday!

I hope many of you will join, as there are only 2 simple rules:

  • when Friday comes, share your fungi with us! post your own, original photo/drawing/art/food/anything-at-all of any type of fungi (yes, stolen images will be checked and reported !)
  • add #fungifriday (not necessarily must be your 1st tag). that's all!
