Hoy 18 de Febrero se conmemora el “Día Internacional del Síndrome de Asperger”, una fecha para concientizar, sensibilizar e informar sobre esta necesidad educativa especial, que se encuentra dentro del Trastorno del espectro autistas, y hoy con todo respeto brindo un homenaje a la población con autismo.
Por lo que traigo para ustedes un interesante post sobre el Trastorno del Espectro Autista ( TEA), el cual es considerado como un trastorno del neurodesarrollo, donde se infiere, qué las personas con autismo presentan cierta debilidad en las relaciones sociales, reciprocidad emocional, comunicación verbal y no verbal, alteración motora y sensorial.
Con relación a la integración e inclusión en el ámbito educativo, es importante que los Docentes desarrollen y tomen en consideración las respectivas adaptaciones y adecuaciones curriculares, para que los niños con necesidades educativas especiales, logren un avance pertinente y significativo, dónde es fundamental la articulación e integración de la familia , escuela y el equipo interdisciplinario.
A este respecto señalo ,que un diagnóstico precoz unido a una intervención o atención integral temprana, es la clave indispensable para favorecer el desarrollo y la calidad de vida de los niños y niñas con autismo, ya que ellos requieren y necesitan de una adecuada atención educativa integral especializada, terapia ocupacional, terapia de integración sensorial ( estimulación sensorial) , terapia de lenguaje, motivación y estimulación desde el hogar, valoración, orientación y apoyo del equipo interdisciplinario , cada una de estas sugerencias es con el fin de contribuir pertinentemente en el desarrollo integral de los niños como seres biopsicosociales , al mismo tiempo favorece el bienestar emocional de las familias.
Dentro de la ayuda que requiere y necesitan los niños con autismo resaltamos la valoración y orientación por el nutricionista, ya que se sugiere consumir alimentos libres de gluten, libre de caseína, entre otros, también debido a la hiperselectividad, en ocasiones rechazan probar ciertos alimentos , debido a su preferencia por consumir siempre lo mismo, una determinada marca, en un determinado envase, una fijación por determinadas textura, sabor ,olor, temperatura, además de la predilección por determinados alimentos, excluyendo los demás ,está hiperselectividad alimenticia genera grandes inconvenientes a la hora de comer, porque los niños sencillamente se niegan a probar o ingerir ciertos alimentos que no se encuentran dentro de su escala o lista de alimentos admitido o preferidos, esto genera una nutrición inadecuada , situación que eleva el nivel de desesperación y estrés en los padres y familiares.
Es esencial que el docente se actualice con relación al trastorno del espectro autista, para que pueda aplicar las estrategias adecuadas respetando ritmo, proceso y estilos de aprendizaje.
Donde se sugiere:
1.Estructurar el ambiente, ya que es importante que el ambiente esté organizado, ordenado, bien estructurado, claramente definido, por lo que sugiero usar rotuladores , en vista que esto permite que el niño permanezca en la actividad , además estimula la concentración, por ejemplo: Se recomienda señalar claramente el lugar destinado para come , el lugar para jugar y el lugar para estudiar, ellos necesitan del apoyo visual, debido a la atención selectiva también llamada atención túnel, si el espacio no está organizado pueden enfocarse en algo que no le corresponde al momento.
2.Incentivar mediante estrategias visuales: Diseñar un cronograma con pictograma donde puedan visualizar las rutinas, un horario, es una maravillosa herramienta, ya que los dibujos, las láminas, los carteles, las fotografías , las fichas, tarjetas o símbolos son elemento de gran ayuda para el aprendizaje en los niños con autismo, así como para fomentar el desarrollo de la comunicación, la compresión y el comportamiento.
3.Fomentar la anticipación: Es una excelente estrategia ya que los niños con autismo procesan la información de una forma muy particular, ellos evocan en su mente las imágenes de lo que conocen o ha ocurrido anteriormente.
En ocasiones presentan cierta debilidad para asimilar cambios, ya que lo nuevo o diferente de lo habitual ,les genera ansiedad y malestar, para que la novedad o los cambios no los sorprendan, se sugiere utilizar una agenda visual o pictogramas, que consiste en dibujarle o mostrarle una imagen, mientras se le explica la situación que va a experimentar a continuación. Además sirve para anticipar cambios en la actividad, para avisar que algo no ocurrirá como el estudiante esperaba, para darle información sobre un sitio nuevo que se visitará, o para orientarlo sobre el comportamiento.
4.Dar instrucciones en forma apropiada: En ocasiones los educandos con autismo tienen cierta debilidad para seguir las debidas instrucciones que reciben y continúan en su actividad como si no oyeran, por lo que es fundamental para su desarrollo, que aprendan el significado de las instrucciones que se le solicita, por ejemplo, enseñarles a reconocer instrucciones simples como “siéntate”, “párate”, “guarda”, “dame”, entre otras.
Las personas con autismo tienen debilidad para mantener la mirada de forma consistente, es decir, el contacto visual, por lo que se sugiere que la instrucción sea dada, freta a la cara para estimular ese contacto visual, con una frase corta, de una a tres palabras. Luego se espera un instante y si el niño o la niña no realizan la acción, se les guía para que la realice.
Es significativo usar reforzadores positivos, para felicitarlo cuando termine la actividad, para que comprenda que, esa era la acción esperada y se motive a repetirla.
5.Resaltar las fortalezas: Las personas con autismo tienen grandes habilidades y destreza por lo que es necesario descubrir e incentivarla, tales como: Habilidades para el dibujo,manualidades, entre otras.
Aspectos pedagógicos:
•Comunicación gráfica: Motivar al niño a comunicarse a través del arte gráfico o el dibujo, contribuyendo con el desarrollo del potencial creativo.
•Habilidad motora: Incentiva la experimentación, manipulación de objeto y construcción, facilitando juegos tales como: Legos, tacos, piezas de madera para que el niño realice construcciones
•Fomentar normas de trabajo escolar: Orientar al niño mediante instrucciones claras y normas de trabajo fáciles de comprender y entender.
•Las interacciones sociales o planificaciones deben ir en función e intereses de los estudiantes.
•Evitar la hipersensibilidad acústica: La mayoría de niños autista tiene poca tolerancia a las multitudes, espacios con mucho sonido o acústica fuerte
•Respetar el orden con el que el niño desea trabajar o realizar una tarea en específico
•Impulsar el juego como estrategia de aprendizaje
•Promover la imitación: A través de dramatizaciones, canciones y teatros en donde haya que imitar para facilitar la comunicación y lenguaje gestual efectivo.
Recomendación para los padres:
Se recomienda frecuentar diferentes lugares, parques, supermercados, cambiar de rutas, visitar diferentes familiares tomando en consideración las medidas de bioseguridad, esto le permitirá al niño adaptarse con más facilidad a los cambios del entorno.
Cuando van a realizar una visita, por ejemplo ir a un consultorio o algún lugar donde les tocará esperar, es útil llevar algunos juguetes del agrado del niño o de la niña. Antes de salir de casa se le anticipa que los puede utilizar al llegar al respectivo lugar.

So I bring for you an interesting post about the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which is considered a neurodevelopmental disorder, where it is inferred that people with autism have some weakness in social relationships, emotional reciprocity, verbal and nonverbal communication, motor and sensory impairment.
In relation to integration and inclusion in the educational environment, it is important that teachers develop and take into consideration the respective curricular adaptations and adaptations, so that children with special educational needs, achieve a relevant and significant progress, where the articulation and integration of the family, school and the interdisciplinary team is essential.
In this regard I point out that an early diagnosis together with an early intervention or comprehensive care, is the indispensable key to promote the development and quality of life of children with autism, as they require and need adequate specialized comprehensive educational care, occupational therapy, sensory integration therapy (sensory stimulation), Each one of these suggestions is with the purpose of contributing pertinently in the integral development of the children as biopsychosocial beings, at the same time it favors the emotional well-being of the families.
Within the help required and needed by children with autism we highlight the assessment and guidance by the nutritionist, as it is suggested to consume gluten free foods, casein free, among others, also due to hyperselectivity, sometimes they refuse to try certain foods, due to their preference for always consuming the same, a certain brand, in a certain package, a fixation for certain texture, taste, smell, temperature, in addition to the predilection to eat a certain brand, in a certain container, This food hyperselectivity generates great inconveniences when it comes to eating, because children simply refuse to try or eat certain foods that are not within their scale or list of accepted or preferred foods, this generates inadequate nutrition, a situation that raises the level of despair and stress in parents and family members.
It is essential that the teacher is updated in relation to the autism spectrum disorder, so that he/she can apply the appropriate strategies respecting rhythm, process and learning styles.
Where it is suggested:
1.Structure the environment, since it is important that the environment is organized, orderly, well structured, clearly defined, so I suggest using markers, since this allows the child to remain in the activity, also stimulates concentration, for example: It is recommended to clearly indicate the place to eat, the place to play and the place to study, they need visual support, due to selective attention also called tunnel attention, if the space is not organized they can focus on something that does not correspond to the moment.
2.Incentivize through visual strategies: Designing a chronogram with pictogram where they can visualize the routines, a schedule, is a wonderful tool, since drawings, sheets, posters, photographs, cards, cards or symbols are elements of great help for learning in children with autism, as well as to promote the development of communication, understanding and behavior.
3.Encourage anticipation: This is an excellent strategy since children with autism process information in a very particular way, they evoke in their mind images of what they know or what has happened before.
Sometimes they have a certain weakness to assimilate changes, since what is new or different from the usual generates anxiety and discomfort, so that the novelty or changes do not surprise them, it is suggested to use a visual agenda or pictograms, which consists of drawing or showing an image, while explaining the situation that will be experienced next. It also serves to anticipate changes in the activity, to warn that something will not happen as the student expected, to give information about a new site to be visited, or to guide him/her about the behavior.
4.Giving instructions in an appropriate manner: Sometimes students with autism have a certain weakness to follow the proper instructions they receive and continue in their activity as if they did not hear, so it is essential for their development that they learn the meaning of the instructions requested, for example, teach them to recognize simple instructions such as "sit down", "stand up", "keep", "give me", among others.
People with autism have weakness in maintaining consistent gaze, i.e., eye contact, so it is suggested that the instruction be given, facing the face to stimulate eye contact, with a short phrase, from one to three words. Then wait for a moment and if the child does not perform the action, guide him/her to perform it.
It is important to use positive reinforcers to congratulate the child when he/she finishes the activity, so that he/she understands that this was the expected action and is motivated to repeat it.
5.Highlighting strengths: People with autism have great abilities and skills, so it is necessary to discover and encourage them, such as: drawing skills, crafts, among others.
Pedagogical aspects
-Graphic communication: Motivate the child to communicate through graphic art or drawing, contributing to the development of creative potential.
-Motor skills: Encourage experimentation, object manipulation and construction, facilitating games such as: Legos, blocks, wooden pieces for the child to make constructions.
-Encourage school work rules: Guide the child through clear instructions and work rules that are easy to understand and comprehend.
-Social interactions or planning should be in function and interests of the students.
-Avoid acoustic hypersensitivity: Most autistic children have a low tolerance for crowds, loud spaces, or loud acoustics.
-Respect the order in which the child wants to work or perform a specific task.
-Encouraging play as a learning strategy
-**Promote imitation: **Through dramatizations, songs and theaters where imitation is necessary to facilitate communication and effective gestural language.
Recommendations for parents:
It is recommended to frequent different places, parks, supermarkets, change routes, visit different relatives taking into consideration the biosecurity measures, this will allow the child to adapt more easily to changes in the environment.
When they are going to make a visit, for example to a doctor's office or some place where they will have to wait, it is useful to take some toys that the child likes. Before leaving home, it is anticipated that the child can use them when he/she arrives at the respective place.
