Me gustará ser abuela
Cariñosos saludos a todos, mamás y papás que forman parte de esta maravillosa comunidad y nos obsequian con la publicación de sus experiencias en el glorioso quehacer de la crianza de hijos y nietos.
A pesar de que hace sólo un par de años no me llamaba la atención el ser abuela, en la actualidad sueño con tener un nietecito entre mis brazos, varón o niña, es igual para mi. ¿Qué cambió? No podría decirlo exactamente, pero mis amigas abuelas y el inmenso amor que muestran por sus nietos, tienen mucho que ver en mi cambio de actitud.
A mi mejor amiga, le nació su primer nieto hace exactamente tres años. Seguí con mucho interés el embarazo de su hija (mi casi sobrina). La espera del nacimiento fue de bastante tensión emocional, pues el bebé decidió llegar con retraso y nos tuvo en intensa expectativa durante semana y media.
Es un precioso varón, que amo muchísimo, a pesar de la distancia territorial que nos separa, siempre estamos en contacto y he seguido el paso a paso de su crecimiento, que la abuela registra en el marco de una puerta. Sus primeras palabras, el gateo, los primeros pasos, hasta verlo convertido en un caballerito que ya inició su vida escolar.
He compartido el disfrute de maravillosos momentos, con esta hermosa familia a la cual me une un parentesco nacido del corazón y que ya entró en la tercera generación, con mi nietecito postizo.
Mis hijos por su parte, son lo suficientemente maduros para establecerse en pareja y lo suficientemente jóvenes para practicar la paternidad responsable adoptando "peludos". Así que tengo dos hijos y dos nietos peludos, que son muy graciosos y los disfruto en videos y fotografías.
Acompañar un nieto en su crecimiento es una gran bendición. Es disfrutar cada paso de su crecimiento y a la vez revivir los significativos momentos de la crianza de los hijos. ¡Un cúmulo de emociones positivas! Pero obviamente, también son muchos los pasajes intensos.
¡Recuerdan mamás y papás, los malestares de la dentición? ¿Los llantos con las vacunas?¿La facilidad para sufrir alergias?¿El fácil contagio de resfriados en la guardería y el pre-escolar? ¡Cómo olvidarlo! Los llantos de nuestros hijos se reviven con las lágrimas de los nietos, pero como ya pasamos por eso, nuestras lágrimas permanecerán invisibles, para consolar al nieto ¡y a los padres!
Los abuelos estamos para consentir a los nietos, decía ni finado padre, para educar están los padres. Y tanto mi papá como mi mamá dejaron huellas imborrables en mis hijos, marcas afectivas contundentes, a pesar de que los disfrutaron por poco tiempo, debido a las complejidades de la vida.
Sin embargo, los abuelos educaron con amor, en valores como la importancia de la familia, el respeto mutuo, el hábito de la lecto-escritura, el gusto por el futbol, vestirse con corrección, hábitos alimentarios y modales en la mesa. Amor y ejemplo, dos significativos ingredientes para todo aprendizaje.
Con todos estos aprendizajes en mi haber, con el hermoso compartir con mi nieto postizo y la observación de mis amigas y amigos abuelos, ¡cómo no voy a anhelar ser abuela! Pero los nietos llegarán si la vida lo dispone, mientras tanto disfruto lo que tengo, incluidas las monerías de mis nietos peludos.

Despite the fact that only a couple of years ago being a grandmother did not attract my attention, today I dream of having a little grandchild in my arms, boy or girl, it is the same for me. What changed? I couldn't say exactly, but my grandmother friends and the immense love they show for their grandchildren have a lot to do with my change in attitude.
My best friend had her first grandchild exactly three years ago. I followed with great interest the pregnancy of her daughter (my almost niece). Waiting for the birth was quite emotionally stressful, because the baby decided to arrive late and kept us in intense anticipation for a week and a half.
He is a beautiful boy, whom I love very much, despite the territorial distance that separates us, we are always in contact and I have followed the step by step of his growth, which the grandmother records in the a door frame. Her first words, her crawling, her first steps, until she saw him become a little gentleman who had already started his school life.
I have shared the enjoyment of wonderful moments, with this beautiful family to which I am joined by a kinship born from the heart and that has already entered the third generation, with my little grandson.
My children, meanwhile, are mature enough to establish themselves as a couple and young enough to practice responsible parenthood by adopting "furry." So I have two children and two furry grandchildren, who are very funny and I enjoy them in videos and photos.
Accompanying a grandson in her growth is a great blessing. It's enjoying every step of her growth while reliving the meaningful moments of parenting. A cluster of positive emotions! But obviously, there are also many intense passages.
Remember moms and dads, the discomforts of teething? The crying with the vaccines? The ease of suffering from allergies? The easy contagion of colds in the nursery and pre-school? How to forget it! The cries of our children are revived with the tears of the grandchildren, but since we have already been through that, our tears will remain invisible, to comfort the grandson and the parents!
Grandparents are here to pamper our grandchildren, neither late father used to say, parents are here to educate. And both my father and my mom left indelible marks on my children, strong affective marks, even though they enjoyed them for a short time, due to the complexities of life.
However, the grandparents educated with love, in values such as the importance of the family, mutual respect, the habit of reading and writing, a taste for soccer, dressing correctly, eating habits and table manners. Love and example, two significant ingredients for all learning.
With all these learnings under my belt, with the beautiful sharing with my foster grandson and the observation of my grandparent friends, how can I not long to be a grandmother! But the grandchildren will come if life has it, in the meantime I enjoy what I have, including the cuteness of my furry grandchildren.

La experiencia de ser abuela es maravillosa, desde que nos enteramos que viene ese ser en camino y cada día que sabemos de ellos. ¡Cuánto orgullo!
Ser abuela es más relajado no tenemos la responsabilidad encima, esa corresponde a los padres a nosotras solo nos toca consentir, tal como lo dices.

I still have a long way to go to be a grandfather but it must be a very nice stage, spoiling the grandchildren and sharing with them. I still can't imagine myself as a grandfather, I will let time tell if I will become one. Ah, very cute your grandson kitty, nice photo.

My mom was very nervous when my wife was going to have our first child and even told us that she didn't know what to do as a grandmother, but now I think she doesn't know how to be anything but a very loving grandmother. I'm sure you will be a great grandmother. Thanks for sharing.
