¿Por qué los padres deben permanecer en la crianza de nuestros hijos?

La paternidad es un tema muy controversial sobre todo en los países latinoamericanos donde algunas veces la figura paterna no se encuentra y la mamá debe asumir el rol de ambos, lo que se convierte en una situación muy compleja. Antiguamente el padre era considerado solo el proveedor de la familia, los niños solo los veían al finalizar la tarde cuando llegaban de sus trabajos. La mujer era quien estaba enfocada en las tareas del hogar y los niños. Ahora esto ha cambiado, las mamás hemos afrontado otras tareas incluso en el tema económico del hogar y al mismo tiempo los papás han cambiado para convertirse en una figura amorosa en el cuidado y protección de los hijos.

Desde que nuestros niños se empiezan a formar en nuestros vientres se genera un vínculo muy bonito con el padre. Él se convierte en la otra voz que escuchan, también es quien nos acompaña al control materno y nosotras nos sentimos amadas y protegidas. Una vez que el niño nace ese lazo crece aún más y los padres participan en las tareas comunes del cuidado de los niños al bañarlos, cambiarles el pañal, alimentarlos y hasta sacarle los gases.

Con la llegada de los niños nuestras vidas cambiaron mucho, porque todo lo que hacemos es por el bienestar de ellos. Nosotros tenemos dos varones uno de ocho y otro de seis, ellos solo se llevan un año y medio, para mí fue una locura porque mi niño mayor estaba en pañales cuando mi hijo menor nació. Gracias a Dios mi esposo jugó un rol súper importante en esta etapa porque me sentí segura, querida y mis niños amados. En este sentido mi esposo sintió el deseo de quedarse en casa y acompañarnos en este largo camino. El trabaja en casa y ayuda muchísimo en la supervisión de los niños y hasta de atenderlos cuando yo estoy ocupada con otras obligaciones. Lo que quiero decir es que la figura paterna es fundamental para la crianza de nuestros niños. Por razones que no puedo entender siempre me ha tocado ser la villana de la película y también debo ser honesta él tiene más paciencia con los pequeños. Él termina siendo más tranquilo con ellos pero cuando la situación se pone compleja termina apoyándome y es como una jugada en equipo.

Sin duda alguna, la presencia cercana de los padres es importante en la vida de nuestros niños y comentaré algunos beneficios:
- Los niños se sienten más seguros porque existe un núcleo familiar completo.
- Desarrollan una personalidad sana y con autoestima.
- Los padres le transmiten sus valores de crianza.
- Cuando estén más grandes sentirán el deseo de establecer amistad con su padre, porque crean lazos cercanos generando confianza.
- En cuanto a los varones indudablemente crecen con la idea que los hombres también deben ayudar en el hogar.
- Crecen con valores responsables de paternidad.

Quiero dar gracias a Dios por tener una familia y un esposo responsable, cariñoso y amoroso, que ha cumplido su rol paternal con dedicación, amor y comprensión para el bienestar de nuestra familia. Somos uno para afrontar las vicisitudes que se nos presentarán a lo largo de este camino difícil, porque ser padres no es nada fácil, conlleva una responsabilidad muy grande, pero debo confesarles que es muy hermoso.

Aprovechando que hoy es el día del padre quiero dedicarle este poema a mi padre que aunque no esté en vida siempre lo llevo en mi corazón y recuerdos.
Padre querido, padre del alma
siempre estás en mis recuerdos y en mi alma.
Aunque no estés presente en nuestras vidas
siempre te llevo en mi corazón.
Recuerdo los momentos vividos
y el gran amor.
Recuerdo tu voz grave y manos ásperas
por el trabajo duro que desempeñabas,
todo para darme lo que necesitaba.
El amor desinteresado que me brindaste
fue tan grande que me llenaba
e hicieron en mi ser más de lo que esperaba.
Aunque te perdiste lo más importante de mi vida,
no porque quisiste si no porque Dios tocó tu puerta,
quiero agradecerte papito querido todo lo que me brindabas.
Mi alma todavía llora al recordarte,

que aunque la muerte nos separe

Fatherhood is a very controversial topic, especially in Latin American countries where sometimes the father figure is not present and the mother must assume the role of both, which becomes a very complex situation. Formerly the father was considered only the provider of the family, the children only saw them at the end of the afternoon when they came home from work. The woman was the one who was focused on the housework and the children. Now this has changed, moms have taken on other tasks, even in the economic aspects of the home, and at the same time fathers have changed to become a loving figure in the care and protection of children.

From the moment our children begin to form in our wombs, a beautiful bond with the father is generated. He becomes the other voice they listen to, he is also the one who accompanies us to the maternal control and we feel loved and protected. Once the child is born, this bond grows even more and fathers participate in the common tasks of caring for children by bathing them, changing their diapers, feeding them and even pumping them.

With the arrival of the children our lives changed a lot, because everything we do is for their wellbeing. We have two boys, one eight and one six, they are only a year and a half apart, for me it was crazy because my older boy was in diapers when my younger son was born. Thank God my husband played a very important role in this stage because I felt safe, loved and my children loved. In this sense my husband felt the desire to stay home and accompany us on this long road. He works at home and helps a lot in supervising the children and even taking care of them when I am busy with other obligations. What I want to say is that the father figure is fundamental for the upbringing of our children. For reasons that I can't understand I have always been the villain in the movie and I must be honest he has more patience with the little ones. He ends up being calmer with them but when the situation gets complex he ends up supporting me and it's like a team play.

Without a doubt, the close presence of parents is important in our children's lives and I will discuss some of the benefits:
- Children feel more secure because there is a complete family nucleus.
- They develop a healthy personality and self-esteem.
- Parents pass on their parenting values.
- When they are older they will feel the desire to establish friendship with their father, because they create close ties generating trust.
- As for boys, they undoubtedly grow up with the idea that men should also help at home.
- They grow up with responsible fatherhood values.

I want to thank God for having a family and a responsible, caring and loving husband, who has fulfilled his paternal role with dedication, love and understanding for the welfare of our family. We are one to face the vicissitudes that will come our way along this difficult path, because being parents is not easy at all, it carries a great responsibility, but I must confess that it is very beautiful.
