Esp/ Ing - Es mi hijo aún muy pequeño para la lectura?
Hola mamás y papás!
Hi moms and dads!
In addition to being a mom, I am an integral teacher and at Fe y alegría school, where I have developed my teaching career, I learned that reading can be learned from a very early age.
My first preschoolers were 4 years old and they soon showed me that they were able to learn quickly. Their language skills had developed to the point that they could repeat words of up to 4 syllables and while playing or doing some other activity they would talk quietly. This was another indication that we could start working with letters and their sounds. At the same time at home I was able to do the same with my son Christian who was the same age at the time.
La Música es nuestra Aliada
Music is our Ally
One of the most effective tools we can have, and one that is curiously underestimated by many teachers, is music. As teachers, one of our qualities is creativity, whether innate or acquired through practice and study, and this, together with music, opens up a range of possibilities for teaching letters and their sound. So, dear dad, mom and respected teachers, SING, SING, SING, SING. For each sound let's use different tones as well as for each phrase, let's use different volume.
Crea un lazo entre los libros y tu bebé
Hace siete años, cuando comenzaban preescolar
Create a bond between books and your baby.
It's nice when you can share a story with them, but it's even better when you create a bond between storybooks and your little one. But not just any storybook. Preferably, especially at this age, the best books are the ones with only pictures or few sentences and short words. These books can be used by you to read to your child and then ask him to tell you the story.
When reading, try to emphasize the words as appropriate and if possible change voices to emulate each character that is part of the story. Remember that you should always go at your child's pace and try to make their experience fun.
