My evening walk near the river and the city...

I won't say that Kharkiv is one of the beautiful cities I have ever seen because this city looks ancient and it's developing. But there is something in this city that held me from the beginning when I have arrived here. I don't know what is that actually, maybe the city itself or maybe the ancient vibes and calmness. I still couldn't figure that out yet. There are many nice places in Kharkiv and whenever I get time I try to see those places. During winter I don't get a chance to see those places because I don't enjoy walking in the cold wind and in heavy snow. Besides I always feel barrier and less energetic walking on the snow and my energy drains so quickly.

So, the best time to see different places in Ukraine is when the winter says goodbye. Normally every weekend I go somewhere, close to the city center and take a long walk. I enjoy the sunset, night view, and sometimes bright day as well if the atmosphere is not too warm.

One of my friends lives in Constitutsky Square which is also known as Istorychnyi Muzei. When I heard these two names for the first time I was confused but later I realized that both names are for the same location. Istorychnyi Muzei (Исторический музей) means Historical Museum. So the museum is located near a metro station and that specific location and the metro station is known as Istorychnyi Muzei. On the other hand, Constitutsky Square or Maidan Konstytutsii is the same place located near the museum. Only English and Russian pronunciation different. It took me a lot of time to understand that these places are in the same location just people call it in a different way.

There are so many spots to see in this area, museums, theater, churches, shopping malls, parks, squares, and the Lopan river as well. So, if you go there, you can easily spend your whole day there. Normally I go there afternoon and stay till night to enjoy the night view as well.

University Hill is another location from where you can see the part of the city, churches and the old soviet buildings as well. You can spend time there with a cup of coffee and can see dusk till dawn.

It takes 30 minutes from my home to reach there.

If you wanna do shopping or want to take your lunch or dinner, you have to go to Maidan Konstytutsii. A large long straight pedestrian/walkway is waiting for you which will take you from University Hill to Istorychnyi Muzei. You will enjoy the cityscape while walking on the walkway as well as the night view.

I always like to walk near the riverbank, it is a broadway where an individual can enjoy the river and cityscape as well. Kharkiv has only two main rivers, Lopan and the Kharkiv rivers.

At the end of the day, I went to eat pizza, the restaurant is also located near the river so I enjoyed the riverine scenery while eating my beef pizza with Black Olives.

I enjoy my day exploring these streets always. Sometimes I go to the park and enjoy my walk while having a cup of coffee or ice cream. What kind of place do you like to go for walk inside your city?

Until next time... Have a nice day everyone...

😍There is a feeling that Kharkiv, in fact, does not change over the years

Those are some great places to visit. It seems you love going for walks more, and you just had to take pizza after the street tour lol. Looks yummy and i would really love to have a bite lol.
Well, I just take a walk around my small neighborhood and there is nothing really interesting to capture or talk about :(

Ya, I like walking in spring, summer, and fall season, I ate pizza because I was hungry, it was not planned at all. When we were in Lockdown I used to walk within my neighborhood, I used to feel good ...

Thanks for reading my post...

Does sound like a peaceful walk around the river. There is a old world look about Khar kiv and yet those multistory buildings make it seem recent. They are colorful too.
That pizza seems inviting.
Great images there.

Honestly, I prefer old Kharkiv more than the new one, I mean when it comes to admiring soviet architecture...
