A Day at Skver Strilka - Beautiful time at Lupan River Embankment

After 6 months of cold, foggy, and snowy winter, everybody feels relaxed and inspired in spring. When spring arrives in Ukraine, everyone feels happy and welcomes spring with a warm heart. This season brings all the changes of joy and happiness and inspires every individual to go out from home. My case is not different and I really feel inspired and motivated when I see spring is knocking at my door. I feel comfortable staying outside more than staying at home and in my opinion, this is the perfect season to become more productive than summer.

Last few days, I barely stayed at home, I was outside most of my time and explored new locations in Kharkiv city. I had a plan to explore some unusual places of Kharkiv but due to weather and transportation issues because of Covid, my plan postponed. But suddenly, this spring came as a blessing for me and I grabbed the opportunity to explore some beautiful locations of Kharkiv city.

Lupan river is one of the beautiful locations to explore in Kharkiv city. The embankment of the river is worthy to explore and one can spend a great time there walking around with family and friends by having good food. Also, boating is available for everyone and you can explore the beautiful river and can create a memory of journey by boat. During winter, this river seems dead even you won't see any ice here except fallen snow.

I started my walk from Constitutskii square and my destiny was University Hill and then Strilka Park, River Embankment. On my way to the park, I had to cross Aleksandar Belltower, and then I have spent some time enjoying the beautiful scenic of University Hill.

University Hill is a very famous location in Kharkiv, this slope is the historical center of Kharkiv city. Not only you will see the beauty of Kharkiv city from here but also you will see some beautiful churches at a glance from here.

You don't need to buy any tickets to climb this slope but you will experience the million-dollar of memory. You will see the largest cathedrals of the city -Cathedral of the Annunciation, located at the end of the slope. You will also notice the greenery of Lupan River Embankment and will observe the oldest streets of Kharkiv.

I have found this man suddenly who was selling these paintings. He was sitting on a chair and was spending his time lazily reading a newspaper. I am sure his small business is not going well nowadays.

After exploring University Hill, I went to Strilka Park. This location is known as Strilka Square and local people call it Skver Strilka. The bridge in Strilka Square is one of the popular places for Kharkiv residents. A lot of people come here to make a few photos. This is a famous spot for newlywed people as well. They do come here for the photoshoot to create a lifetime memory.

The park is small but worthy to explore. Many people come here every day to spend their time with family and friends. There are sitting arrangements as well near the river embankment and you can sit there and enjoy the view of the river.

You can rent a boat here for 1-2 hours and can have a good time on the river. Many people hire boats and experience the calmness of this river. Some sit around and take some pictures as well.

Sitting on a beach and experiencing the calmness of the river is the best experience in life I would say. I won't say it's a gorgeous place but it is a place where you will find peace and calmness.

Look at the sky and the river, it's just beautiful. There are some restaurants and bars nearby so you can have your lunch or dinner there.

That old building that was located opposite the side of the river caught my eyes. It's so old but the color was fascinating, green facade and I felt like because of the color, this building seems remarkable in this area.

I had a great time exploring the beauty of the river, embankment, and square. This is not a massive square but massive enough to see and gather some experiences. We, humans always look for some good places to spend some time because city life is boring. Such places always offer us joy and happiness in life.
