Hello everyone, this post was suppose to be for yesterday, I totally forgot to type 🤦🏽. Well, this is the 11th Day of my 30 Days Blogging Challenge, the theme is, "How Do You Manage Stress?". I will be sharing the different ways I manage my stressful life.

HOW DO I MANAGE STRESS?

According to studies, stress is a feeling of being under abnormal pressure. This pressure can be from different activities in our day to day life. Some of the ways I manage my stressful life are explained below.

EATING HEALTHY

Eating healthy can help reduce the risks of diet related diseases. I protect my feelings of well-being by ensuring that my diet provides adequate amount of brain nutrients such as essential vitamins and minerals, and of course plenty of water.

EXERCISING

I try as much as possible to include physical exercises into my lifestyle because it is very effective in relieving stress. If you feel too lazy to workout, how about getting some fresh air and taking some light physical exercises, like going for a walk. Going for a walk really helps reduce stress from recent studies, and I have practiced it and it works well for me.

TAKING TIME OUT

I always take time to relax. Often times, I try to strike the balance between responsibility to others and responsibility to myself, this really help reduce my stress level.

BY BEING MINDFUL

Mindfulness is a mind-body approach to life that helps us to relate differently to experiences. It involves paying attention to our thoughts and feelings in a way that increases our ability to manage difficult situations and make wise choices. I try to practice mindfulness regularly because it can reduce the effects of stress, anxiety and related problems such as insomia, poor concentration and low moods.

GETTING SOME RESTFUL SLEEP

I am guilty of struggling when it comes to getting sleep. This is a common problem associated to stress, especially when your mind is not at rest. So, I try as much as possible to get some good amount of sleep regardless of how stressful I am. When my mind isnt at rest and I can't get some sleep, instead of staying in bed worrying, I get up and read a book, after a while, my mind gets distracted and sleep comes in. It is very important to get enough sleep, it help reduce stress.

NOT BEING TOO HARD ON MYSELF

As stressful as things may get, I try to keep things in perspective, reminding myself that, having a bad day is a universal human experience. Whenever my inner critic finds fault in the things I do, instead of getting all worked up, I try to find truth and exception to what is being said by my inner critic. If you stumble or feel you have failed, don't work yourself up, act as if you are your own best friend, be kind and supportive to yourself. I always take a few minutes each day to appreciate myself, it always help to reduce stress.

When your body creates stress responses, you may feel threatened or upset, which may lead to some physical changes to the way you behave and this would lead you to experience more intense emotions. Just tell yourself, "This Too Shall Pass" and move on.
