Un Placer Culposo es algo que nos gusta y que disfrutamos bastante, pero que nos avergüenza admitirlo frente a otras personas pues son gustos que están bastantes sujetos a la crítica negativa de la sociedad. Esas películas y series de televisión que disfrutas ver una y otra vez pero que realmente son malísimas, aquella canción pegajosa, mala y sin sentido que tanto odias amar, la combinación de ingredientes extraños en una comida que para ti resulta ser delicioso…esos son ejemplos de placeres culposos.
Ya había hablado antes en una publicación pasada sobre mis placeres culposos y creo que en esa oportunidad los incluí todos y realmente no son tan malos ni bochornosos. Aun así hablaré en esta publicación sobre el placer culposo que considero es el que más me avergüenza.
A Guilty Pleasure is something that we like and that we enjoy quite a lot, but we are ashamed to admit it in front of other people because they are tastes that are quite subject to the negative criticism of society. Those movies and TV series that you enjoy watching over and over again but that are really bad, that catchy, bad and meaningless song that you hate to love so much, the combination of strange ingredients in a meal that for you turns out to be delicious... those are examples of guilty pleasures.
I've talked about my guilty pleasures before in a last publication and I think I included them all in that one and they're not really that bad or embarrassing. Still, I will talk in this publication about the guilty pleasure that I consider to be the one that embarrasses me the most.

A pesar de que tengo 23 años, aun disfruto ver la serie de películas de High School Musical. Para quienes no lo saben esta saga está compuesta por tres películas musicales juveniles originales de Disney Channel, la primera de ellas fue estrenada en el 2006. Para este momento yo tendría unos 9 años y de verdad me encantaban esas películas...bueno, aún me siguen gustando bastante a pesar de que la historia está dirigida para un público bastante joven.
Cada vez que voy cambiando de canales en el televisor y me doy cuenta que están pasando alguna de estas tres películas no dudo en verlas. A pesar de que ha pasado bastante tiempo aún me recuerdo de las letras de todas las canciones e incluso las canto a todo pulmón (aceptar esto es algo que me causa bastante vergüenza) y de hecho me divierto bastante al ver las coreografías de la película. Puede que las canciones y la trama de las películas en general sean bastante cursi, pero tienen algo que te terminan enganchando tontamente.
Even though I am 23 years old, I still enjoy watching the High School Musical film series. For those of you who don't know, this saga is made up of three original Disney Channel youth musicals, the first of which was released in 2006. By this time I would have been about 9 years old and I really loved those films... well, I still like them quite a bit even though the story is aimed at a rather young audience.
Every time I change channels on the TV and I realize that one of these three films is being shown, I don't hesitate to watch it. Even though it has been quite a while, I still remember the lyrics of all the songs and I even sing them at the top of my lungs (accepting this is something that causes me quite a bit of embarrassment) and in fact I have a lot of fun watching the choreography of the film. The songs and the plot of the films in general may be quite corny, but they have something that ends up getting you foolishly hooked.
La última película de esta saga fue la única en estrenarse en cines y recuerdo claramente que prácticamente obligué a mi mamá a que me llevara al estreno de la película e incluso soporté una larga fila de personas para poder adquirir las entradas para la función... qué les puedo decir, soy bastante intensa con los estrenos de las películas que me gustan.
Sería normal para algunas personas pensar que para la edad que tengo soy bastante infantil por gustarme estas películas, pero realmente si disfruto ver estas películas ¿por qué debería sentirme culpable? ¿por qué sentir tanta vergüenza de algo que me gusta pero que no perjudica absolutamente a nadie? Esto me lleva a pensar que cuando nos sentimos culpables por algo, pero que no perjudica a ninguna persona, es que estamos sumergidos en el mundo de la crítica y el perfeccionismo. Muchas veces dejamos de ser nosotros mismos por miedo a ser juzgados o criticados, pero si nuestros gustos y forma de ser no nos perjudica a nosotros mismos ni a terceras personas entonces simplemente vivamos siendo felices así tal cual somos, con los gustos extraños que tenemos pero que disfrutamos.
The last film in this saga was the only one to be released in cinemas and I clearly remember that I practically forced my mother to take me to the film's premiere and even endured a long queue of people in order to buy tickets for the show. What can I say, I'm quite intense with the premieres of the films I like.
It would be normal for some people to think that for my age I am quite childish for liking these films, but really if I enjoy watching these films why should I feel guilty? why should I feel so ashamed of something that I like but that doesn't harm anyone at all? This leads me to think that when we feel guilty about something, but that doesn't harm anyone, it's because we are immersed in the world of criticism and perfectionism. Many times we stop being ourselves for fear of being judged or criticized, but if our tastes and way of being do not harm us or third parties then we simply live happily as we are, with the strange tastes we have but enjoy.
