If Only I Could Learn This In An Instant | Day 6 of 30-DAY #BLOGGING CHALLENGE - Part 3 | [ENG/SPAN]

Cryptocurrency and blockchain. That's what I'd like to learn in an instant if I could learn anything in the world. Why, because I have to make up for ten years lost time. I don't have any more to waste.

You see ten years ago my children heard about digital currency. They tried to get me to investigate it. I was hesitant. After all, my entire adult life consisted of dealing with bank, bank tellers, and checking accounts.

Monthly bank fees were deducted from my accounts if I fell below the required limits. And savings accounts with strict regulations on withdrawals were the norm and still is.

That's all I knew and became comfortable with it because it was the way of the world. Everyone else did it too.

When I first heart of cryptocurrency and bitcoin, I actually laughed. "Never would I waste my money on such nonsense," was my response to anyone who mentioned them. I didn't bother to learn anything about it because I simply wasn't interested.

About five years ago, I heard more about it. I started reading, but I still was skeptical. I certainly wasn't going to waste any of my money on cryptocurrency. I wanted something guaranteed such as interest on my savings and CD's. Quarterly dividends on my stocks and bonds were items I could brag about.

While I was content with my traditional investments, most of my friends were already headed into digital currency. They were desperately trying to bring me into the future of doing business they said.

I just couldn't wrap my head around it.

However, with constant urging from my children and friends, I promised I would take time to learn. It was like learning a foreign language. I was lost.

Finally, I was introduced to the other blockchain in 2019. I still didn't understand what all the excitement was about.

Fast forward to today after having gone through the switch to Hive. I know I'm any closer to fully understanding it all.

Now I read, acquire bits and pieces, and am slowing making small gains.

One thing I do know is that I'm cautious when it comes to dealing with my financial stability. I'm now retired, and I have to be even more cautious I don't squander my resources. I have some disposable income. I utilize it wisely now to invest in crypto.

Another situation that's a setback for me is that I worked really hard at earning rewards for my content at the other blockchain. I was extremely disappointed that I could not bring all my assets in my Wallet with me. A few coins mirrored my holding on Hive. But the others, still remain. I'm slowing finding ways to liquidate them.

One of my holding is my units of BtcMYK. I own 850 units. I'm entering a writing contest to try to increase my holdings so that I can utilize the portal to bring them to Hive.

I can say I've read enough while on the Hive blockchain that I'm a bit more comfortable working with my Hive Wallet.

I earned tokens from delegating, posting, and staking my holdings.

Yes, I actually learned what staking is. All I have to remember is my traditional stocks and joining their dividend reinvestment plans to put my dividends back into the company to further grow my account. That is showing confidence in the company.

My plan in 2021 is to acquire more coins and tokens in small quantities. I joined the Saturday Savers Club on Hive. With the savings I've accumulated so far, I've purchased some tokens for communities and projects I plan to support while learning more about DeFi, such as:

• LBI
• LEOM
• LEOMM

I'm proud of my achievements so far. But I'm only a small fish. As long as I can associate digital currency with something that's familiar, I won't feel like I'm being swallowed up in the vast ocean called cryptocurrency.

I do wish, however, I could learn it in an instant.

Verás, hace diez años mis hijos oyeron hablar de la moneda digital. Intentaron que lo investigara. Yo dudaba. Después de todo, toda mi vida adulta consistía en tratar con bancos, cajeros y cuentas corrientes.

Las comisiones bancarias mensuales se deducían de mis cuentas si no alcanzaba los límites requeridos. Y las cuentas de ahorro con estrictas regulaciones sobre los retiros eran la norma y aún lo son.

Eso es todo lo que conocía y me sentí cómodo con ello porque era la forma del mundo. Todo el mundo lo hacía también.

Cuando me enteré de la existencia de las criptomonedas y el bitcoin, me reí. "Nunca desperdiciaría mi dinero en semejantes tonterías ", fue mi respuesta a cualquiera que las mencionara. No me molesté en aprender nada al respecto porque simplemente no me interesaba.

Hace unos cinco años, oí hablar más del tema. Empecé a leer, pero seguía siendo escéptico. Desde luego, no iba a malgastar mi dinero en criptodivisas. Quería algo garantizado, como los intereses de mis ahorros y CD. Los dividendos trimestrales de mis acciones y bonos eran elementos de los que podía presumir.

Mientras que yo me conformaba con mis inversiones tradicionales, la mayoría de mis amigos ya estaban metidos en la moneda digital. Intentaban desesperadamente llevarme al futuro de los negocios, decían.

Yo no podía entenderlo.

Ahora leo, adquiero trozos y voy haciendo pequeños avances.

Una cosa que sí sé es que soy cauteloso cuando se trata de mi estabilidad financiera. Ahora estoy jubilado, y tengo que ser aún más cauteloso para no malgastar mis recursos. Tengo algunos ingresos disponibles. Ahora lo utilizo sabiamente para invertir en cripto.

Otra situación que es un revés para mí es que trabajé muy duro para ganar recompensas por mi contenido en la otra blockchain. Me decepcionó mucho no poder llevar todos mis activos en mi Cartera conmigo. Unas pocas monedas reflejaron mi tenencia en Hive. Pero las otras, aún permanecen. Estoy buscando lentamente la manera de liquidarlas.

Una de mis participaciones son mis unidades de BtcMYK. Poseo 850 unidades. Estoy participando en un concurso de escritura para intentar aumentar mis participaciones y poder utilizar el portal para llevarlas a Hive.

Sí, realmente aprendí lo que es el staking. Todo lo que tengo que recordar son mis acciones tradicionales y unirme a sus planes de reinversión de dividendos para poner mis dividendos de nuevo en la empresa para hacer crecer aún más mi cuenta. Eso es mostrar confianza en la empresa.
