Goals for 2021 - Personal growth and care for the others

Happy new year, everybody!

This year should be special for me. I decided that I want more freedom in all aspects of my life, like decision freedom, financial freedom, and family freedom.

The year 2020 was catastrophic for me and most of us, for sure. It did change our life and the perception of it. I did experience the fear of death, a heartbroken, and last month, sadly, my father passed away. Also, I learned to accept everything bad that happened to me because I don’t have any control over it.

This time, I need to experience new things, but this time, positive things. I would like to change other people’s lives for the better and be part of their memories.

Travel alone

Last year, traveling was high risk —and still is— but I hope by summer we can reduce the risk and control the virus a little bit. If this is the case, I would like to travel alone and discover new places and meet new people from other cultures. Thus, I hope to grow more on maturity and problem-solving. Definitely, this is a challenge for me because I always experienced anxiety and I hardly accepted new changes in my life, but now I feel confident.

I live on Canary Island, an archipelago of 8 islands at the upper left of Africa. I plan to start close and small, so I’ll visit the other 7 islands and every hidden corner, taking my time exploring. Because each island is unique, it’ll be awesome and I won’t get bored.

Photography

Photography started as a hobby by accident. I wasn’t the kind of guy interested in photography but a friend of mine one day wanted a photoshoot with her mobile camera. Because of that, something inside me liked it and I was having fun. I really loved to experiment with different angles, distances, and lightning, so I felt like a child playing.

After a few days, I had a eureka moment. What if I buy a camera? I could go to events, new places and more, with the excuse of taking photos. A camera would be my best trip partner. So, I did buy the camera and took really nice photos on the first day. If you are interested, you can see some of these photos on my 500px account.

So, my resolution for this new hobby and year is to complete a full photography course in an academy, because sometimes I don’t know what I’m doing.

Content Creation

One month ago I discovered the Hive ecosystem and I was fascinated because the community and how the reward system works. So, I wanted to take part in it too, and share my experiences and knowledge. Therefore, I created two accounts, one for LeoFinance and another for the rest of the Hive communities.

I wrote a post on LeoFinance about my 2021 goals in Hive that you can read in my month report.

Besides the goals in the post above, I want to write at least 10 posts per month with this account. It's going to be more personal than in LeoFinance, so I encourage you to follow me.

Philanthropy

In the last year, I started to lend money to entrepreneurs in 3rd world country using Kiva. I think sending food to Africa is a not problem-solver, even it could be worse. What they need is a way or a tool to produce their own resources every day, so that’s why I believe that lending money to fund new business in these countries could be a better help for them.

Apart from that, I contribute to other projects like cleaning the seas from plastics and tree planting. I recently discover a DeFi site focused on tree planting, which is called rTrees. They plant trees based on the interest generated and not from donations, I really loved this idea.

My goal for this year will be to deposit 1000 DAI on rTress and lend another $1000 on Kiva.
