Alice Wonderworld Zoo

Hi there Hive Family,

This weekend I decided that I will try something different for a change and visited an open door Zoo near my hometown Sofia. It had a lot of different species and the most interesting and entertaining part was, the animals and birds were mostly cage-free just wandering around. They were so used to all the people passing by and filming them that they even enjoyed their presence and helped by standing still when needed 😁

I do not recall being in such a place. Usually in Zoos, you are not allowed to walk around animals or pet them. So it was new to me too. And you will be amazed to see what was the main attraction there too.

We started off in the yard where we saw a lot of different Geese.

IMG_20210328_121439.jpg

They look like twins. Check out for they have the same neck tilt and facial expression while I was taking the photo 😃

IMG_20210328_121509.jpg

Those were just chilling.

IMG_20210328_121523.jpg

Close angle. It didn't even blink. Natural photo modelling duck 😀

These feather friends had an amazing coloring.

Trully amazing experience. There was a basin and all Geese we having fun.

IMG_20210328_122036.jpg

Look how close I am and they just don´t care.

IMG_20210328_122058_1.jpg

Just a casual goose photo and me 😅

IMG_20210328_122258.jpg

This is the white goose. Pretty cool :)

IMG_20210328_122448.jpg

And here I am between the grey and the white ones. They did not eat me, thank God 😁

Time to move on. There were some animals that were not in open space. I guess those were not accustomed and couldn't be let on their own.

So here we have huge hares. What the label says is that they come from France and have very calm temperament. They can be around other species and will behave very well.

IMG_20210328_122705.jpg

And here we have the Peacock. According to the label, lives around 20 years. It is cross-breed but must be carefully selected if we want the perfect color mixture of the tail.

IMG_20210328_123638.jpg

I could not catch them while showing the whole Brise tail. It would have been spectacular.

These are supposed to be llamas. I guess because they do not have much hair on the head. Alpacas are much more hairy on the head. I was afraid that it is going to spit on me. Luckily, it didn´t. This means that it is not afraid and is used to people passing by and taking pictures.

IMG_20210328_123409.jpgIMG_20210328_124604.jpg

We saw different kind of goats in the upper section while checking out the llamas. They were in the open space.

IMG_20210328_122917.jpg

IMG_20210328_122904_1.jpg

Some rams too. With a bell 😃 How typical.

IMG_20210403_120633_edit_500632252713712.jpg

And now we have arrived to the main attaction. The mighty Alpacas and their goaty bodyguards. Just kidding, but they were amazing. And also eating the whole time. They didn´t even bother looking at us too much.

IMG_20210328_124222.jpg

But it looked a bit as if this black goat is a bodyguard of a sort. You shall not go beyond this line! Or I will unleash my big horns on you! Of course, it was just an improvised picture. Very cool though.

IMG_20210328_123947.jpg

Eat, eat, eat. There must be a way to make them raise their heads and give us some attention.

IMG_20210328_124141.jpg

Aww, I got it. I just have to take some grass and feed them. This is how I would get them to pay a little more attention.

IMG_20210328_124235.jpg

Yes! Show me your beautiful furry face.

IMG_20210328_125225.jpg

We are friends now ❤️

IMG_20210328_124124_1.jpg

An amazing day with amazing Friends. I had a lot of fun learning about these animals and birds and also being able to pet them and feel the warmth and welcomeness was awesome. It really astounded me that the owners were just a few retired people that owned the land but decided that they will do something big instead of just living the rest of their lives in a normal garden. They took the liberty of calling places as far as South America to arrange for the transfer of Llamas and Alpacas to Bulgaria. An incredible act of pure genius. In this way, children and even grown people like me would have the chance to see those species at home without having to travel tens of thousands of kilometers.

Stay happy, be peaceful!

Namaste
