Traveling the World #207 - Crommelin Native Arboretum @ Pearl Beach, Australia
Hi Everyone,
Pearl Beach not only has a nice beach but it has a nice arboretum. Crommelin Native Arboretum has 5 hectare of native bushland open to visitors all year round. Located at the end of a quiet street at Opal crescent, there is a small carpark for visitors or those who live nearby like us, we can walk there easily to the entry of the park. If you follow the path and stroll through, it will take around 30 minutes which is a great location to get some fresh air and be outdoors to enjoy the sun. Be sure to wear some comfy walking shoes and bring your camera if you are love the nature. It is also a popular spot for wedding and pre wedding photos and while we were there, we could see a couple taking their pre-wedding photos.
There are many signs at the entrance of the arboretum including no dogs allowed, no scooters or bikes, no camping and so on. These rules are needed to preserve the nature and allows those visiting a pleasant visit. As you walk along the guide path, there are lots of information for each type of plant which is great for kids who are curious about the environment.
There are a few bridges along the way to help walkers walking into the water but also brings a change of scenery for the walk. There are also some ‘sub’ walks which shows different plants from previous walks. Some of the trees there are pretty big and have been there for many years. The kids loved the huge tree trunks and if we are lucky, we can see some rare birds and butterflies. My boys loved following the butterflies which worried me as they just followed and not taking note of the track they were walking on.
Towards the end of the trail, there is a large open area for some photos with the sun. Here is one attempt of Baby E trying to be artistic tilting the phone to get us on an angle. A wonderful walk with the family and getting the kids to know a bit of the nature around them. I’m not an outdoor person but this walk was really relaxing and the time to get around was just enough to make you feel like you have done some exercise.
