Bang Saray Town and Beach in Thailand.

Last Sunday my friends and myself decided to take ourselves over to Bang Saray Beach it's about 25km out of Pattaya City, and is one of those towns that is basically untouched by tourist, the beach has one of the most pleasant stretches of fine white sand beach that you will not find in Pattaya City, the town itself is very colorful and attractive and has a real pleasant local atmosphere about it, without tourist running around every where, I found the town very peaceful and welcoming and you can enjoy a calm day on the beach without all the beach vendors annoying you like on Pattaya Beach.

Here you will find mostly Thai locals that travel to this beach they are not to much into there water sports, they love coming here just to chill out sit under the coconut trees enjoy the sea breeze and eat all there favorite Thai cuisine's some buy foods from the street vendors and others will bring all there own foods with a portable gas burner and there beach mats eating and chatting all day till sunset.

My Thai friends that I work with over here in the car industry, were saying to me that Bang Saray Beach Town has remained the same as Thailand use to be 20 years ago, you will find more local families and fishermen here, the town doesn't have huge condo developments or resorts for tourist to be staying here, it has a couple at the most and no loud nightclubs or raunchy go-go bars like in Pattaya city. The nightlife in Bang Saray town you will find is quiet a conversation over dinner and a few drinks is as far as it will go. The only foreigners you will see around Bang Saray Town are the few retirees that are living here or the out of town foreigners who living in Thailand and will come here for the exquisite fresh seafood lunches or dinners by the piers.

What I did see was a few really cool chill out cafe/restaurants by the piers and in the local streets aimed more for the foreigners, maybe they are trying to turn it into a little more of a touristy town but just for the day visitors. I am thinking they will never let it get like Pattaya city that would really spoil the charisma and atmosphere of this beautiful town.

The most exquisite dining areas are found along the coastline piers and there are three or four piers to choose from, finding mainly all Thai seafood restaurants mostly targeting the Thai customers the seafood restaurant we ate at called the BangSaray Seafood didn't even have English signs or menus but foreigners and local Thai's will travel for miles to come and enjoy the freshers and the best of seafood dishes.

As I was saying before there are very few hotels or resorts to be seen on Bang Saray Beach town but this particular one that my friends took me to see if I even wanted to have a romantic weekend in Bang Saray Beach and not being a expensive resort compared to Pattaya city was the Baan Tah Hotel on the Sea, constructed on there own pier with there own restaurants, coffee shops and on the pier you could do a bit of fishing or enjoy the sunsets.

The views from this hotel were just stunning you could not only see the whole view of Bang Saray town and fishing piers but you could see across to Pattay city, a great spot just to chill out.

When I was coming into Bang Saray town it reminded me of a small town maybe Spain or Mexico very colorful town but a growing town built around it's fishing piers and safe harbor, it is a very laid back community with the fishermen making up most of the town who have been here for generations going out to sea in the late evening as the sun starts going down and returning in the early mornings with there colorful boats loaded with the nights catch of fish, squids and prawns.

Never had I seen so many old style colorful wooden fishing boats up close and some were just sitting there abandon I would love to buy one of them and fully restore it bringing it back to life was a shame to see them just rotting away.

Walking towards to very end of these piers you really had to watch were you stepped otherwise you would be swimming with the fish but that's what gave this village the charisma all natural and I found it interesting seeing the fisherman doing maintenance on there boats, repairing there nets, washing there cloths and bathing on the boats or getting ready for the night out at sea this was just all there everyday chores being a fisherman at sea.

Seeing all this makes you wonder how life can be so simple and fun as a community out here they are like one big family helping each other without any stressing or mod cons, what a life and then when you get sunsets like this it just makes your life even more peaceful at heart. Love this town.

That's a beautiful little gem, and love the sound of the seafood restaurants, hope it stays that way unspoilt by mass tourism.
