This place is absolutely amazing, when I was walking here one morning I didn't understand what structures nature could create. Being at an altitude of 2700 meters and looking at a peak 1000 meters higher was an indescribable experience.

Amazing!!! Did you continue to climb up the Teide. In the three month on Tenerife we didn't manage to do so :( But more reasons to go back!
I was there on the first attempt to cross the GR 131s with a small detour to the top of Teide. I spent the night in Refugio and descended to the top of Montaña Blanca in the morning. It is basically impossible to climb up from Montaña Blanca with full equipment to cross the island.
