On my way to Medan City

My family and I traveled from Simpang Tiga Redelong Bener Meriah to Lhokseumawe City. I took the KKA route. This route is a shortcut to Lhokseumawe, which is shorter than going through Bireuen. Upon arriving in Lhokseumawe, we were heading for Medan City in North Sumatra Province.

This KKA route passes through the Buntul Kemumu sub-district. Previously, the KKA road was not yet penetrated. When I worked at the Buntul Kemumu Puskesmas in 2008-2011, this KKA road was not paved. It is still a path, which cannot be passed by any vehicles.

During the trip I took a number of photos. The view along the road is very beautiful, with high mountains, and beautiful trees.

You can also see that the fog still falls to the ground. The weather is quite cold. It’s so beautiful, indeed.

The trip to Lhokseumawe takes about 2 hours. Actually it could be faster, but because many roads were landslide and damaged, it made our trip slower.

So we have to be careful at night. It is better indeed, if we rarely pass this way, just avoid traveling at night. In addition to the many damaged roads, thick fog will also be annoying and dangerous when driving.

When it has entered the Aceh Urara area, the altitude has dropped. The fog began to disappear.

This trip is quite fun. We can enjoy it while seeing beautiful scenery. If you want to rest, you can stop at several restaurants in the Mount Sala area, such as Puncak Hill Resto.

** Arriving at Lhokseumawe **
As soon as we arrived in Lhokseumawe, we stopped at Pempek Mang Boim. We enjoyed the typical Palembang pempek there. Location of Pempek Mang Boim, in front of the PT Arun Complex, Batuphat.

After enjoying a portion of kapal selam, we continued our journey to Medan.

Arriving at Geudong Pase, we stopped again to taste the typical durian martabak there. This Martabak Durian has been around for decades.

After another 4 hour journey, we arrived at Langsa Town.

Continuing the journey for about 3 hours, we finally arrived in Medan, the capital of North Sumatra.
