Introduction

Hi everyone @LivingUKTaiwan here with today's edition of the #TravelDigest. In case you miseed our announcement yesterday, we have extended the closing date for the Pinmapple Thousand contest as some people had issues logging into the contest raffles website. The two writing contests will now close on Tuesday 1st December, and the raffle draw will close on Saturday 5th December. This is really the last chance to get your entries in! Also, if you've already entered, make sure you remember to add your entries as a comment to the original announcement post to make sure to don't miss it. Thanks.

🥇 Lijiang - Day 1 / Tag 1 by @bossel

With Chinese tourists comes commercialisation. In Lijiang this is much worse than in Dali. Virtually every building in traditional style (most of which are actually fairly new, built only in the last 2 or 3 decades) is either a shop, a restaurant or a hotel. Case in point is that restaurant in the nice alleyway above. The stairs leading into the wall show you that the original building there obviously looked very different from the restaurant now.

🥈 #7 Hiking at Wright Field In Alpine California by @shoemanchu

The Wright's Field trail is a 3.1 mile hike but more like a walk, unless you freestyle it like we did. So many paths to choose from and we actually ended up walking about 5.5 miles total. This was stop one of day one, so good thing we had enough energy the next day to do the big hike. That post will come soon after this one, so stay tuned in and enjoy our journey, for I am just one that loves to share, not a professional photographer nor writer. God Bless....

🥉 Nelson Ghost Town , Navada. by @kohsamui99

The dark side of Nelson town is , it was directly downstream of Eldorado Canyon and unfortunately the once boomtown was hit by flash flooding taking away all it precious minerals and making the town practically uninhabitable , what we are seeing here today is a small remaining quantity that was sitting above the flood channel.
