Travel Digest #1021
Introduction
Hi everyone , it's @LivingUKTaiwan here with today's edition of the #TravelDigest.
We're nearly half way through the Pinmapple 1000 contest, 20 more days to go before the contest ends. We have three parts to the contest. First, the raffle draw with 1000 Hive prize pool, trust me that is the easiest one to enter, only takes you five minutes. Second, we have 3 x 100 Hive prizes for the best post to share your Pinmapple/Haveyoubeenhere experience. And finally, we have 700 Hive prize pool for the "If I had $1000" writing contest. So what are you all waiting for!!!!!
All featured posts are visible on the Editors Choice Map and upvoted by @pinmapple, @blocktrades, @theycallmedan and the curation trail. For more travel digests check out #traveldigest.
Our winners today 🍍
🥇 The Great Santa Cruz Island of Zamboanga City by @kneelyrac
The island is not commercialized and well-preserved. There were no water sports available, but we fully enjoyed the bareness of the beach. Aside from the serene water with a distant view of Zamboanga City of the island, it also offers lush scenery. The island is abounding in greens. There are no resorts on the island. The number of visitors is regulated and it is open from 7:00 AM to 2:00 daily. Thus, overnight camping is prohibited

🥈 Wednesday Walk: visiting the old city wall district, เดินเล่นเขตพระนคร by @kaminchan
I kept going back to this old part of Bangkok which used to be inside the old city wall as if I was looking for some missing pieces of my identity or family heritage. By the time I came back from overseas, most of my elderly relatives were all gone so I could not ask them about their stories of the transition period in Siam. I only remembered vaguely my grandmother’s teak house in this area. There are so many unanswered questions about my family trees.

🥉 Mediaș, Another Medieval City of Transylvania - Part 3 by @erikah
Architecture has always fascinated me and in this city you get to see some amazing buildings that you can't see anywhere else. There's a street called Johannes Honterus that connects the historical city center to the Steingasser Gate Tower. It's an old street, full of beautiful houses, protected by the city. Some are in a deplorable state, but there's hope one day these will be restored.
