Our visit to Nevado Rajuntay / Nuestra visita al Nevado Rajuntay
Greetings, everyone in this beautiful community! We are Omar and Dina from @musicandreview, and this time we want to show you our experience in a Full Day we made to the Peruvian Andes, specifically in the Junin Region, Yauli Province, where we visited several spectacular sites. For this post, we will show you the Nevado Rajuntay, which is a mountain that has an altitude of 5,450 meters above sea level (masl).

Les saludamos Omar y Dina de @musicandreview y en esta ocasión queremos mostrarles nuestra experiencia en un Full Day que realizamos a los Andes Peruanos, específicamente en la Región de Junin, Provincia de Yauli, en el que visitamos varios sitios espectaculares. Para esta publicación, les mostraremos el Nevado Rajuntay, que es una montaña que cuenta con una altitud de 5.450 metros sobre el nivel del mar (msnm).
At the time of our visit the temperature was -1 degrees Celsius, our guide mentioned to us that the summer season was beginning and that for this reason it was a good time to be in the site, since evidently in winter it would not be very bearable. However, we must mention that beyond the strong cold, the altitude factor was the one that affected us the most, the truth is that we both felt a little dizzy and with a headache, which we tried to put aside to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Para el momento de nuestra visita la temperatura era de -1 grados centigrados, nuestro guía nos mencionó que estaba iniciando la temporada de verano y que por tal motivo era buen momento para estar en el sitio, ya que evidentemente en invierno sería poco soportable. Sin embargo, debemos mencionar que mas allá del fuerte frío, el factor altura fue el que mas nos afectó, la verdad ambos nos sentimos un poco mareados y con dolor de cabeza, cosa que tratamos de hacer a un lado para poder disfrutar de los espectaculares paisajes.

Fact: For this kind of weather, it is recommended to chew Coca leaves, which supposedly regulate the body temperature; in our particular case we were able to chew some but we didn't really feel any difference.
Dato: Para este tipo de clima, recomiendan masticar hoja de Coca, la cual supuestamente regula la temperatura del cuerpo; en nuestro caso particular pudimos masticar algunas pero realmente no llegamos a sentir mayor diferencia.
Our travel companions decided to wear ponchos, which are a typical garment of the area and serve to counteract the cold; we found them a bit uncomfortable and decided not to wear them.
Nuestros compañeros de viaje decidieron usar los ponchos, que son una prenda típica de la zona y que sirve para contrarrestar el frío; a nosotros nos pareció un poco incomoda y decidimos no usarlos.

For us, it was a pleasant experience to visit this place, since this type of climate and geography is not common in our country of origin, reason why perhaps it was a little hard for us to adapt; however, we did not let that overshadow the moment and we dedicated ourselves to keep in our minds the beautiful scenery.
