It was later restored in 1968 to it's former glory where Hedley and Janet then kept the Emu bottom homestead frozen in time as a tourist destination where people could come and see the way of life lived by Australians.

Much of the buildings have been constructed from local sandstone and red gum wood which is a sturdy hard wood.

There have been a few additions to the property over the years, as above. A miners cottage was moved to the site from a miners camp. It has been restored and is now on display.

The Emu Bottom Homestead is now used for events such as weddings and functions providing Australians and visitors to step back to a time that once was.
