Quito is the capital of Ecuador and is surrounded by natural beauty thanks to the mountains that hug the city, some of them volcanic, others with snow-capped peaks, hills with lush forests and a fertile valley. This city offers a diverse range of attractions and activities that can be done as a family, as a couple or alone. It has a large number of sites that tell us its history, culture, natural wonders, as well as fun places for young people and children. The historic or colonial center of Quito is divided into two areas, which preserves the architectural characteristics of yesteryear quite well. Since 1978 the city is considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is a place full of museums, churches, galleries, colonial buildings, houses with furnished balconies and open-air markets in narrow and cobbled streets, it has approximately 10 museums, 22 temples and several convents, such as the monasteries of San Francisco and Santo Domingo. . , the Jesuit church and school of La CompaΓ±Γa, the Basilica of the National Vow, as well as theaters, restaurants.

Today it is a modern city with great urban and industrial activity, where the old and the modern mix deeply. However, modern massive rural migrations, economic and labor crises, as well as policies, have changed the face of the city in many parts and also its urban environment, truly a place to travel and enjoy every detail and its inhabitants. very collaborative with visitors.

Wow it must be spine tingling to live in amongst such intriguing history with all of the old building and monuments reminding you every day just how many stories were created by the billions of inhabitants that have lived and died there through the centuries!
How special that must be and to live in such an environmentally beautiful country too!
I have now moved Ecuador much higher up on my POST pandemic travel list thanks so much to you @maxili63 !

See you there @lesmann ! πŸ˜ƒ

The truth is a place with a lot of history, a lot of beauty to know how the natural part such as volcanoes and spectacular lakes, I will make other publications about volcanoes, apart from the history as you say, the only thing that terrifies me are the frequent tremors. Yes @chocolateskorpi, @maxili has out it on the map as to places to escape to!
Having lived in Germany 21 years,
I have "NO" problem living outside the U.S.
I have about 5 places on the list, and I am
researching all the time!
Wish You both an Awesome Day!

Yeah, since (to be honest)...
Germany to Texas, via NY/NJ was a huge mistake.
And....
I was "not" told the truth about "anything" coming back to the U.S., so...
I want to plan My escape from Texas pretty carefully!
I also want to be sure to not "have" to live here afterwards either. So I am taking My time to get it right!
πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜
I would go back to Europe but...
I have gotten used to Tropical Weather!
πŸ˜πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†πŸ˜
Have a Great One, have a Blessed Weekend!

Well I hope it's too a much better place.
Funny, I was just having achat a few mins ago to an old,old friend who has just bought 360 acres of isolated bush out in the middle of noweher and he was telling me about his next door neighbours......and the conversation pretty much ran along the lines of ours has done over the last few days.

So he left Sydney to get away from the knuckleheads and ends up having even worse boneheads moving in next door to him...πŸ™„

Yeah, they are like ants!
And...
That is why I am also (this time) paying attention to who is living where...
True, anyone can move in, anywhere...
But if it's a place that's difficult for idiots to operate in..
That might be the ticket!
πŸ€”πŸ™„πŸ˜‰
Wish You an Awesome Day!
(*And thanks for putting up with a side of Les that I normally don't post)!
Have a great One!
And always,
Many Blessings!
