Do You Believe in Supernatural Being? ALL ABOUT HINATUAN ENCHANTED RIVER, SURIGAO DEL SUR, PHILIPPINES

Included in my daughters Surigao Del Sur escapade was a visit to a magically clear blue river called Enchanted River located in Hinatuan. They actually pass by this enchanted place when they went to the Sibadan Fish Cage, it is where they took a boat ride going to the fish cage.

Enchanted River has literally blue water, so clear and beautiful that one would really want to visit and see by their own eyes.

The Enchanted River is a deep river, around 80 feet deep and its salt water flows into the Pacific Ocean. This amazing river had attracted visitors from all over the world. It earned the moniker “enchanted river” from a diplomat who described the river in his poem.

Exploration

The first study to the cave of Hinatuan Enchanted River was made in 1999 led by Dr. Alfonso Amores this lead to the discovery of a hidden cave and underwater cave’s chamber. Unfortunately, Dr. Alfonso Amores died when he failed to exit the narrow entrance of the cave due to cardiac arrest, he was at 40 meters depth during that time. After his death exploration continued until 2015.

Do you believe in supernatural beings?

A lot of people living in the area believe that that river is being guarded by supernatural beings which act as its protectors. They had talked about ferries who believed to be the reason why the color of the water is blue. But whether it’s true or not no one can really tell.

Many people attempted to reach the bottom but no one has ever reached it. This remains a mystery because even professional divers failed to reach the bottom, maybe this is the reason why they called the river as enchanted.

How do you get to Enchanted River?

Wherever you are you can take a flight to Butuan City in Mindanao where you can take a bus to Hinatuan, the travel will take you about 4 hours to reach Hinatuan and from Hinatuan you will have to take a motorcycle ride to Enchanted River which will take about 20 minutes.

Not a complicated route but whatever hardships you will experience, you will surely forget everything when you will get to see the beautiful river and perhaps had the chance to have a swim over the blue water.

So here you go with this beautiful mystical river in Hinatuan Surigao Del Sur. I know it would be a long ride if you will come from Davao or Cagayan de Oro or Bukidnon by land but as far as those who were able to visit the place is concerned, it is indeed worth it.
