Hello everyone, this will be the second part of my blog about our recent visit to Kibawe, Bukidnon the place where I was born.

As mentioned in my previous blog, I used photos taken by my mobile phone, and this time I will share with you original photos shot using my Nikon Camera. Better photos I guess.

Anyhow, such an opportunity was unusual, I mean not so frequently we could have the chance to go there the whole family. So if it happens it is something really worth remembering.

Before going further let me share with you some information about the province of Bukidnon.

MALAYBALAY CITY

Bukidnon is a noncoastal province in the Philippines which is located in the Northern part of Mindanao. Its capital is Malaybalay City, a first-class component city dubbed as “little Baguio” because of its very cold atmosphere. People would love to stay there especially during summer because while most of the places around are having very hot weather, Malaybalay still maintains its cool atmosphere, I think maybe because it is surrounded by mountains and trees not to mention the hundreds of thousands of pine trees scattered around.

So every time we will travel to Kibawe, we need to pass by this cozy city and I do appreciate its climate such that I really wanted to have my own place there, hopefully soon.

VALENCIA CITY

Before we will reach Kibawe, we will also pass by another city in Bukidnon. Valencia City is a second-class component City located just about 30 minutes from Malaybalay. It’s a very progressive city, no wonder it’s hard to get through their main streets as they really have heavy traffic, although there are already diversion roads that travelers can opt to take to avoid being stuck up in the middle of the streets. When we were there, they were still doing road repairs and I think that caused traffic not to mention being the center of trade and commerce, it is expected that they will experience an influx of visitors every day.

Maybe I will just write a separate blog for both Malaybalay and Valencia City, I’m sure you will get some exciting and relevant information about the two cities in Bukidnon. You will be amazed also by the stunning and beautiful tourist spots they could offer to their visitors.

So there are few Municipalities after Valencia that we will be passing through before finally reaching our destination. These municipalities are also progressing, there were so many changes and improvements being made or introduced in their respective places.

So here we go after being able to visit the grave of my mother (this was our original purpose why we went home) we went straight to Pawan Resort for our lunch.

Welcome to Pawan Resort

Pawan Resort is located at Sampagar,Damulog, Bukidnon. They have a small cottage for only Php. 150.00 and entrance of not more than Php. 50.00. They have 3 pools. One pool is 5 ft. and half of the pool is 4 ft. The other pool is for kids ages 3 – 6 years old. They also have a pool for toddlers. - TAGABUKID BLOGS

We arrived at the area around 12 noon, just enough for taking our lunch. Unfortunately, we have a little problem at the entrance as vehicles were no longer allowed to enter, so we need to walk a few meters with our food on.

This is not the way they treat visitors before, I don’t know they said it’s because of the pandemic but I don’t see any sense at all, they can always allow vehicles to go inside just to drop the things or foods and will just immediately go out and park outside. I think it won’t violate the protocol.

Honestly, I was a bit pissed off I am supposed to talk to the owner so we could be relieved with such little inconvenience but my brother-in-law advised me not to, he told me and the rest to just bring our food inside. I am supposed to insist on customers is always right, not to mention being the bread and butter of a business.

I think they should examine their policy once again and at least give utmost importance to the needs of their guests. Not just about what they think is right considering their own views. They should listen to suggestions from their visitors, otherwise, they will lose loyal customers.

Getting closer to the pool area made me excited and I know the kids were even more excited because they will have the whole afternoon swimming and playing.

Indeed the place was perfect for family gatherings, the kids really enjoyed the moment with their cousins playing and swimming. We used to visit this place every time we have a chance to go home to Kibawe, I think it's because this place is just adjacent to our ancestral home.

The kids continue playing and enjoying the pool while we were eating and later on had a singing session while others had their drinks. We were just beside the pool so we could still monitor the kids while they were in the pool.

This part was intended for little kids. A very small pool in the kids of small trees to give a shade for the kids not to be exposed to extreme heat.

I think we stayed there for more than 5 hours and since it’s more than 5 pm already we had to pack and go home. I know it's just a short period but I also know that the little time spent there was worth it, from more or less 5 hours travel from Cagayan de Oro and about 30 minutes ride from Kibawe to Pawan which is already part of the next municipality Damulog, Bukidnon.
