The Beauty of Barcelona, Spain.
Barcelona , Spain was not on our travel agenda but after seeing Rome and Guardia Sanframondi my parents home town in Italy we decided we wanted to try more Europe foods and see more Cathedral's so with rescheduled our plans and headed to Barcelona in Spain. We soon found out that Barcelona had a amazing range of things to do and see it wasn't all about football , there was lots of amazing foods to try and lots of fun nights to be had in this city.
Our first thing to see in Barcelona was Park Guell which is a massive park with lots of beautiful gardens , amazing architectural buildings to be seen around the park with lots of colorful mosaics art all done by Antoni Gaudi and in summer this park is full of life with musicians playing around the park also , Park Guell is situated on top of a hill so you get a spectacular panoramic view of Barcelona city from above.
Barcelona City holds a lot of history centuries ago the Romans also lived here and built towns here is why the Spanish and Italian cultures are very similar in architect and foods and most of the Cathedral's here are just breathtaking to look at. Many towns still retain that Roman look.
Even walking the streets of Barcelona you feel like you are in Italy the people are friendly and you get great vibes from the city.
These were the views we had from Hotel Colon while staying in Barcelona we wanted to feel like part of the town instead of staying at some beach resort.
My wife taking a break we were walking around a lot i believe this is the best way to see a town or city you need to mingle in with the people looking at the way they go about there daily chores.
Antoni Gaudi colorful mosaics art work is to be found all over Barcelona this was just enjoying a bit of a break on the Mediterranean coastline Barcelona Beach taking in a bit of cool breeze and vitamin D. Amazing work and lots of patience needed to put all these little pieces of porcelain ceramic materials together and looks unbelievable and smooth to sit on but a bit hard on the back side 😅
The bustling food market in Barcelona are amazing to walk through the varieties of foods were astonishing wish we had choices like this back home.
We when to the Las Ramblas food market which is the largest and most popular one in the city here you can here they have many rows of small tapas bars were you can sit a sample many foods on offer sit relax eat and wash it down with Sangrai when your done.Barcelona is certainly a city that knows how eat and party 🙂
Paella mmmmmm a Spanish rice dish with seafood yummmmmmy 🙂
Prosciutto's of all quality 🙂
Cheese anyone what a range never seen so much cheese in one shop.
Meatballs done in fresh rich tomato sauces another specialty of the Spanish. Best to come hungry so you can feast on all these superb local dishes.
Placa de Catalunya is classed as the city of Barcelona city it's where the old and the new city meet their are huge department stores , shopping malls great restaurants a very crowed place. It's a place where people meet, play and frolick. Some are there just to show off all kinds of skills, including baskers and wannabes. Bring an umbrella to avoid being pooped on, as the place is full of pigeons 😅

It's amazing how one can find so many colours and diversities in just one city! I've seen pictures of Barcelona before, but I've never been able to admire the more minute details like this before. The architecture is just amazing, with many many unique styles and patterns. That's not to mention the atmosphere, and all that food 😋
You are so right and i would love to go back and see more of Spain in the near future 🙂
There are quite a few Portuguese folk here on the Hive that I interact with, and have enjoyed stories and photos of their home country. I've already decided that Portugal is one of the places that I want to visit at least once in my life, so I may as well make a slight detour to Spain, too! There's too many beautiful places in the world, and not enough opportunities to enjoy them all 😄
That area is really another world of it's own to experience and i would love to do the same being Aussie/Italian it is right up my alley with there food and culture 🙂
Haha, cheers! I'd certainly love to visit that someday 😄
