In this post I will tell you about the ascent to the natural monument of Cerro “Santa Ana” located in the Paraguaná Peninsula of the Falcón state, in still beautiful Venezuela.

En este post les contaré sobre el ascenso al monumento natural del Cerro “Santa Ana” ubicado en la Península de Paraguaná del estado Falcón, en aún hermosa Venezuela.
First of all I will explain a little about this monument, and the reason why it is a monument. It was declared a natural monument on June 14, 1972, for being a particular ecosystem, in this hill different climates are exposed during the ascent process, it also has the particularity of being the only formation of its kind in the peninsula so it can be observe from any point of it.

Fue declarado monumento natural el 14 de Junio de 1972, por ser un ecosistema particular, en dicho cerro se exponen distintos climas durante el proceso de ascenso, además tiene la particularidad de ser la única formación de su tipo en la península por lo que se puede observar desde cualquier punto de ella.

Already towards the last stage of the ascent, stone walls are presented, which must be climbed with agility, sobriety, a little stooped because the wind seeks to separate you from the grip of the walls of the hill, the sensation is still pleasant, but you have to keep an eye out for any misstep and you can fall more than thirty meters in a row.
Ya hacía la última etapa del ascenso se presentan paredes de piedra, las cuales deben ser escaladas con agilidad, sobriedad, un poco agachados porque el viento busca separarte del agarre de las paredes del cerro, la sensación no deja de ser placentera, pero hay que mantenerse atento pues cualquier paso en falso y se puede caer más treinta metros corrido.
En la punta el viento se bate a toda hora, ahí solo las águilas y los gavilanes llegan cada cierto rato, y a veces hasta ellas son arrastradas por el viento que se genera por ser el cerro la única oposición al viento en esa zona. Se puede observar toda la península de Paraguaná desde ahí si no ha nubosidad, desde “Punto Fijo”, pasando por “Los Taques”, “Pueblo Nuevo” y “Santa Ana”, y a todos lados el mar “Caribe”.
