¿Cómo se encuentra hoy mi linda comunidad de Hive? yo realmente espero que estén teniendo un día maravilloso preparando todo para estar con sus madres, yo estoy lejos de la mía y extraño mucho a todas las mujeres maravillosas de mi familia con quien solía pasar este día, pero bueno, hoy quiero mostrarles otro lugar espectacular de Montevideo.
More than 15 days ago I took you to see the constitution square and I promised you that soon I would visit the cathedral to show you a little inside, if you read that post you will remember that the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and San Felipe and Santiago de Montevideo is located in Ituzaingó street in front of the main square.
In the photos above we can see the facade of the cathedral, I wanted to take a complete photo but the trees are still very dense and they did not allow me to take a complete photo, however, here are some different perspectives, to access the cathedral we have three large arches with bars, then you enter through some very tall and heavy wooden doors.
Hace mas de 15 días los lleve a conocer la plaza constitución y les prometí que pronto visitaría la catedra para mostrarles un poco de su interior, si leyeron aquel post recordaran que la Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción y San Felipe y Santiago de Montevideo se encuentra en la calle Ituzaingó frente a la plaza matriz.
En las fotos de arriba podemos apreciar la fachada de la catedral, quise tomar una foto completa pero los arboles están aun muy tupidos y no me permitieron tomar una foto completa, sin embargo aqui les dejo algunas perspectivas diferentes, para acceder a la catedral tenemos tres arcos grandes con rejas, luego se ingresa por unas puertas de madera muy altas y pesadas.
Immediately when you enter this sacred place you feel a different energy, it made me remember when I visited the church with my grandmother, I even sent her some photos by WhatsApp telling her that when she visits me, we will come to this beautiful cathedral together, the amount of details is impressive that it has everywhere, in my opinion it is an architectural and artistic marvel, in addition to the calming atmosphere that it feels to enter these types of places, beyond the tourist interest, also visit the church, because these last days have been a bit difficult Because many things have happened in my life that are not allowing me to feel the same energy and joy as before, without going into much detail, coming here and feeling the peace that the place emanates was a restorative therapy.
Inmediatamente que ingresas a este lugar sagrado se siente una energía diferente, me hizo recordar cuando visitaba la iglesia con mi abuela, incluso le mande algunas fotos por WhatsApp diciéndole que cuando me visite, vendremos a esta hermosa catedral juntas, es impresionante la cantidad de detalles que tiene por doquier, a mi parecer es una maravilla arquitectónica y artística, además de la tranquilizante atmosfera que se siente ingresar a este tipo de lugares, mas allá del interés turístico, también visite la iglesia, porque estos últimos días han sido un poco difíciles porque han pasado muchas cosas en mi vida que no me están permitiendo sentir la misma energía y alegría que antes, sin entrar mucho en detalles venir aquí y sentir la paz que emana el lugar fue una terapia reparadora.
Even for this Carla, who has lost faith in the Catholic Church a bit, it gives me peace to visit these venues, because beyond the differences that I think I have with the Catholic Church, these places make me feel closer to God.
Speaking a bit about the cathedral, it was named as a National Historic Monument in 1975, however the construction itself has taken place since the 18th century, inside, in addition to incredibly realistic statues of different saints, it also houses the graves of different historical personalities of the Uruguay, among them we find, priests, politicians, military, independence heroes and scientists.

Incluso para esta Carla, que ha perdido un poco la fe en la iglesia católica, me da paz visitar estos recintos, porque mas allá de las diferencias que yo crea tener con la iglesia católica, estos lugares me hacen sentir mas cerca de Dios.
Hablando un poco sobre la catedral fue nombrada como Monumento Histórico Nacional en el año 1975 sin embargo la construcción en si ha transcurrido desde el siglo 18, en su interior además de increíblemente realista estatuas de diferentes santos, también alberga las sepulturas de diferentes personalidades históricas del Uruguay, entre ellas encontramos, sacerdotes, políticos, militares, próceres independentistas y científicos.
It seems incredible to me the level of skill necessary that the sculptors had when carving the marble in such diverse figures, it seems that at any moment they would begin to breathe, the versatility of marble is impressive and despite its austere radiance the life that it infuses into everything what is sculpted in it.
This is a cathedral full of details, I would spend days exploring and capturing all its corners to be able to show you this space in all its greatness, beyond the religious connotation of the place, if you visit Montevideo I recommend this architectural work as a mandatory stop.
Me parece increíble el nivel de habilidad necesaria que tuvieron los escultores al momento de tallar el mármol en tan diversas figuras, pareciera que en cualquier momento comenzarían a respirar, es impresionante la versatilidad del mármol y a pesar de su austero resplandor la vida que infunde a todo lo que en él se esculpe.
Esta es una catedral llena de detalles, pasaría días explorando y capturando todos sus rincones para poder mostrarles este espacio en toda su grandeza, mas allá de la connotación religiosa del lugar, si visitan Montevideo les recomiendo como parada obligatoria esta obra arquitectónica.
