Been living in Pattaya city , Thailand now for almost six weeks now but haven't had a chance to get out sight seeing been to busy with settling down in my new apartment and my job but today, i had the opportunity to take a walk up to Pratumnak Hill it is not a steep climb but a gradual climb following paths and steps for about 2km before you reach the top of the hill, once your on the top of Pratumnak Hill, here you will be at the highest lookout point of Pattaya city over looking the Pattaya bay and the city.

Pratumnak Hill View Point, is also know as the Big Buddha hill the two main reasons, i wanted to climb this hill was mainly to grasp the spectacular views and also to be close up and touch this huge Pattaya City sign that stands tall on this hill, i think they got that idea from the American's the Hollywood sign.

Pattaya city is located on Thailand’s Eastern Gulf coast known for its beaches and nightlife is it approx 2 hour drive from the city of Bangkok. Pattaya city bay reminds me of my home city been the Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia with it's long stretch of beach and it's tall building along the coastline.

Pattaya city right now like many other cities around the world is very quite without the tourist because of the ongoing pandemic so it is making it extremely easy to get around and the air and the beaches have never been any cleaner. All those boats you see in the bay are normally not there, they would be racing across the ocean taking tourist to the many near by islands like Koh Larn but today they just sit there till the boarder gates open up again.

After seeing those spectacular views and the huge Pattaya City sign, i started my journey back down the hill as i am walking i come to a split junction i can either take the steps leading up to the Helipad or the steps on the right leading me back down to the beach but i decided to take the Helipad steps always wanted to see what a Helipad looked like high up on a hill.

As i was walking around on this Pratumnak Hill, i was thinking to myself and admiring how wonderful it would be to live up on this hill the location was perfect the surrounding panorama views were just mind blowing, imagine owning an apartments on this hill these were million dollar views and millions of dollar apartment that i would only dream of owning back in my home country but guess what with the world economy at it's knees you can now own one of these apartments from 200,000 to 400,000 US dollars depending on what floor and fully furnished at that, i couldn't buy a one bedroom apartment for for 300,000 US in my home country bargains to be had all over Pattaya City at the moment.

From the Helipad, i had already cover a large area of ground and and 6km of walking so i decided to head back down to the base of the hill towards Pattaya beach to catch the sunset. Along the way nice rock staircase, some spiky cactus plants and more stray dogs.

Once at the base of the hill, i could see the huge marina bay and the lighthouse even thought it was hot and sunny there was a cool choppy breeze by the ocean causing a dramatic scene with the waves crashing up against this long concrete pier that wasn't even been used maybe put up for tsunami waves or to protect the boats at the marina just saying.

This was quite a nice part of Pattaya city away from the screaming traffic or you could hear here was the crashing of the waves and a couple of fisherman around with beautiful nature surrounding you.

Then it was of to pay a visit to the marine bay emergency rescue team and check out an few old fishing boats and a old haulage ship.

This tall building that you have been seeing in most of the photos was going to be the icon of Pattaya city the hulking 53 story condominium waterfront apartments came to a halt in year 2014 after safety inspectors discovered that the building in particular it's fire escapes and elevator systems varied from approved construction designs and has been in court battles ever since, now it stands as a abandon building and millions of dollars at lost.

Much more to see and explore in Pattaya city but for now, i will end this expedition with a walk to Pattaya beach catch the sunset and call it the day till my next walk around the beautiful Pattaya city.
