Excursion to the Hermitage of San Bovo, Val Rovina - province of Vicenza - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

Well yes, I'm back! I have an incredible effort to find the time to post, every time there is an unexpected event that prevents me.

Today I want to take you to the province of Vicenza, precisely to Val Rovina, where there is a beautiful hermitage that I visited a few years ago and that I really liked.

Ebbene si, sono tornato! Faccio una fatica incredibile a trovare il tempo per postare, ogni volta c'è un imprevisto che me lo impedisce.

Oggi vi voglio portare in provincia di Vicenza, precisamente in Val Rovina, dove c'è un bell'eremo che ho visitato alcuni anni fa e che mi era molto piaciuto.

To reach the hermitage I drove along a place called Val Rovina, then I went up a narrow and steep road up to a small village called Caluga.

Once I parked the car near an old well, I walked along a path which is located along the high tobacco road. An itinerary that crosses the ancient tobacco crops.

Per raggiungere l'eremo ho guidato lungo una località che si chiama Val Rovina, poi ho risalito una strada stretta e ripida fino ad un piccolo paesello di nome Caluga.

Una volta parcheggiata l'auto vicino ad un vecchio pozzo, mi sono incamminato lungo un sentiero che è situato lungo l'alta via del tabacco. Un itinerario che attraversa le antiche coltivazioni di tabacco.

Despite the altitude of only 320 meters above sea level, the panorama is very beautiful and extensive.

Nonostante l'altitudine di soli 320 metri sul livello del mare, il panorama è molto bello ed esteso.

The signs of spring are all there.
Throughout the excursion I enjoyed photographing beautiful colorful flowers...

Durante tutta l'escursione mi sono divertito a fotografare bellissimi fiori colorati...

The path is very beautiful and not at all difficult.
Nature had yet to fully awaken and the ground was covered with dry leaves.

Il sentiero è molto bello e per niente difficile.
La natura doveva ancora risvegliarsi completamente e il terreno era ricoperto di foglie secche.

After the first stretch you can continue to the right passing a closed gate to the side.

A few meters and you reach flat land belonging to an abandoned house.

Dopo il primo tratto si può proseguire a destra superando di lato un cancello chiuso.

Pochi metri e si giunge ad un terreno piano di pertinenza di una casa abbandonata.

Some graffiti isn't bad, but I have to say that it's very out of place in a natural context like this.

Alcuni graffiti non sono brutti, ma devo dire che stonano molto in un contesto naturale come questo.

After a quick exploration of the house, I turned back and continued along the main trail.

Dopo una veloce esplorazione della casa, sono tornato indietro e ho proseguito lungo il sentiero principale.

It's hard not to stop and admire some truly impressive trees...

This stretch is very beautiful, the path narrows between the rocks and is also more exposed to sunlight so the atmosphere becomes ideal for taking pictures.

Questo tratto è molto bello, il sentiero si stringe tra le rocce ed inoltre è più esposto alla luce del sole quindi l'atmosfera diventa ideale per fare foto.

Ecco che finalmente cominciavo ad intravere l'eremo...

When you arrive at this point you feel a real sense of peace.

The open and horizontal space, the rocks that decorate the environment ... a natural garden.

Quando si arriva in questo punto si avverte un vero e proprio senso di pace.

Lo spazio aperto e orizzontale, le rocce che decorano l'ambiente...un giardino naturale.

A simple, modest architecture that is essential and communicative at the same time.

Easy to read, made with the same materials as the place, this hermitage coexists perfectly with this place.

Un'architettura semplice, modesta, allo stesso tempo e essenziale e comunicativa.

Di facile lettura, realizzato con gli stessi materiali del luogo, questo eremo coesiste perfettamente con questo luogo.

There is also a proposal hole and outside a few meters away, a stone altar.

C'è anche una buca per le proposte e all'esterno a pochi metri, un altare di pietra.

When you continue to the side of the building you can see the view of the Valbrenta, stupendous.

Quando si prosegue a lato dell'edificio si scorge la vista sulla Valbrenta, stupendo.

There's even a campfire spot with wooden benches around it, great for groups of friends.

C'è anche un punto per fare il falo con delle panche di legno attorno, l'ideale per gruppi di amici.

I was at peace with myself, refreshed and ready to go home, just what I needed!
