Trip Through typical villages "Compilation" | Portugal

Hi everyone :)

We will embark on a journey through some typical Portuguese villages that are architecturally distinguished by their location, starting in the north and ending in the south of the country.
The villages located in the North are inland, in mountainous areas between valleys, so their characteristics stand out for the robustness of the construction of these houses, with gray walls made of granite, often extracted from the soil of the region where they are located.
We start with the village of Sistelo, located in the municipality of Arcos de Valdevez, also known as the small Portuguese Tibet due to its terraces.
This small village, among others, won the noble distinction of one of the 7 wonders of Portugal, due to the cultural and natural heritage of such particular characteristics, as the terraces that are the basis of the agro-pastoral economy of this region with a marked relief.

From here we head towards the village of Campo do Gerês, also located in a small valley surrounded by high gray mountains marked by the abundance of granite typical of the area in the heart of the Peneda Gerês National Park, the first protected area to be created in Portugal in 1971, with an area of 69,693 hectares.
This small village is very close to the Cerdeira campsite, the place of choice when i go there to spend a quiet time in communion with nature in its purest state.
Gerês has always symbolized the harmony between man and nature.
The village is now practically stripped of its traditional inhabitants, having given way to rural tourism housing in large numbers, which made me a little sad the last time i tried to visit the Dona Micas tavern and i was no longer possible to find it open.
How long will we be able to maintain certain cultural roots, when there are no central or local supports to fix these people? only time can tell.

Bye bye north, now in the south of the country, in a place next to the coast and with a less heavy face and frequented by a mix of local people and carefree and happy tourists.
Welcome to the village of Porto Covo, a place full of small white-walled houses with their characteristic blue stripes, and just by the architecture we already know that we are in Alentejo :)
The village itself is not very large, but it is very cozy.
It has a small square that i share in these photos, where every day and night we can see people relaxing eating and walking, reading books and watching the kids playing.
I don't even know exactly how many times I visited this place, I just love it.

Below, we have the village of Odeceixe, also very characteristic of Alentejo lands, but already located in Algarve soil: P
With an area of approximately 42 km², the village has a population of around 900, although this number varies greatly due to the bathing seasons that attract many tourists.
At the time we visited it, the influx of tourists was high and it was not possible to get to know the people who live there very well and even the traditional trade was all closed, with only a few stores left mainly for foreign tourists.
I sincerely liked the beach more than the village, but maybe i got the wrong feeling by the time the visit was made.
