The horse race is an activity that has always caught my attention. It will be because from an early age, over the years I was already interested in witnessing the races up close, but I was not old enough to attend the racetrack on my own.
I remember how every Sunday I sat in front of the television to watch the races, it was very entertaining. The excitement of seeing the horse you predicted would win and bet on it, the adrenaline rush and the satisfaction of knowing that you were winning and the disappointment if you lost.
In my country the most important races were on Sundays, and every Monday I would go out early to buy the magazine with the statistics and the races for the next Sunday to study the possible winners. He was young and innocent.
Until the day came when I was 18 years old and was able to visit the racetrack. I went with my cousin who is much older than me, and we sat in the face-to-face grandstand, and we enjoyed the races a lot, a whole Sunday afternoon living the excitement. We ate "tequeños" and sodas, while we watched the big money gamblers in their suits and neckties, performing all their opulence on the site.
The racetrack is 3 hours from our homes, but we still went, we got up very early to go, and we spent a different and very entertaining day, although we lost and won a few times.
I think those are very nice memories to remember that horse racing left me.
