She Is So Together || AN ORIGINAL POEM by @profgabs05

She moves with elegance,
slightly aloof,
keeping that certain distance,
very aware of herself,
of her impression on others,
carefully choosing her words,
so conscious of her image
that she is unable to respond to others.

Yet actually she is tied in knots,
well-fashioned, good-looking knots,
but knots.

I am sometimes afraid of her
because of the dissecting look
with which she takes people and things apart
without really being interested
in putting them together again.

Yet in her togetherness i see her loneliness,
her dejection.
She is not happy with herself
but she has not yet come to the point
of admitting it, not even to herself.
She still has the feeling
that she must continue playing her role.

She has many people wondering
whether she really has a heart.
