part 1 I gritted my teeth and said nothing

Ya'll have all seen pictures of my husband, for the ones who haven't seen, he is a big man with white hair and a white beard and he never wears shoes. When he says something there is no changing his mind. When I asked about taking our granddaughter's dog he told me that I would be the one caring for the dog. The dog has been here one day and my husband has been on the internet googling what a dog should look like, he says she is too skinny. So she is now getting more food than the bag suggests. My daughter buys a high nutrition dog food, so they do not eat as much as other dog food, it costs 32 dollars a bag. The man that said he is having nothing to do with the dog likes to go out with her, calls her over to him so he can pet her, gives her snacks and just now tried to get her to get up in his lap. I gritted my teeth and with a smile said nothing.

Weekend Freewrite -2/8/2020 - Prompt 2 - The Interference suddenly, the heater kicked in with a loud rumbling noise cutting through the silence

This dog is not right in the head. All-day yesterday she barked at my husband any time he moved or said anything. I figured because she came from a house that has no men, it is just my daughter and granddaughter. She is fine around me. Last night after my husband went to bed she laid on her bed and was quiet. Later I went to bed and had just fell asleep when suddenly, the heater kicked in with a loud rumbling noise cutting through the silence. It was not the heater but the dog she barked at every sound she heard all night long. I am hoping she just needs to learn the noises of our home and maybe she will not bark all night.

The Weekend Freewrite - 2/8/2020- Part 3 - The Dramatic Twist a child screamed

This morning the dog is still barking at my husband, no matter what he does she barks, her tail is wagging while she barks so I do not think it is aggression. My brother his wife, their granddaughter and great-grandson who is 5 came to see us today and yes the dog barked at everyone for the first hour then nothing all she did was run and play in the yard. We were all outside when a child screamed, my first thought got me in the pit of my stomach, my thought was the dog bit him. Then I hear the little boy say "a spider" I was so relieved. After my brother left and we came inside and the dog started barking at my husband once again and has been doing it non stop all evening.
