This is my post for #freewriters Friday prompt black panther hosted by @mariannewest

When I was a young girl and we would go to my Grandmother's house and at night you could hear the panthers in the woods behind her home. There were always rumors of one being a black panther but I do not know if it was true because I have never seen a black one. The panthers that we have in Florida are really cougars, I do not know why people started calling them panthers.

We do not have many around my area nowadays because of development but a few years ago one walked past my house on the preserve. The only reason that I knew this was I was on a website that tracked them and it showed where all it has been. For years they have put tracking collars on most of the panthers. I feel bad for the wildlife here in Florida. There are not many places left for them. Sure there are preserves but they travel and have to cross roads taking their life at risk at each crossing.

I had to be at the doctor's at 9 this morning, so my husband had to take the fish and weigh them by himself. We had 209 pounds. We did not fish today, we can't fish tomorrow because no one will be at the fish house to weigh up on Sunday and we can not fish Monday because I have to be at the eye doctor's at 10 in the morning.

The appointment this morning was just to see how my blood pressure was doing. At the beginning of the week it was good but the last 3 days it was a little on the high side, 130 to 134. They want me to still take and write it down every day until I see the doctor in August.

At 11:30 today I had an appointment with my Pain Management doctor. I had the results of the MRI of my neck sent to his office. The doctor at the clinic told me that my only option was to see a Neuro Surgeon. I told my doctor about my falling, the jerking when I am down like a seizure, the numbness, the high blood pressure, and how my vision comes and goes. He said that the MRI showed normal signs of aging and it is not the cause of any of the things that I am experiencing. He has referred me to a neurologist. With no insurance, I am worried about what all he is going to do. I called the clinic and asked if they had a neurologist, they don't. I will go to him but I am unsure how far I will let him test me.

Today after I got home from the doctor I slept for 4 hours and when I woke my vision was fine. This is the first day that I can see clearly at this time of day. It has been like I was looking through binoculars without adjusting the focus. Maybe I should quit working and nap all day.

I think this would be lovely for about a week. Then you would probably get bored.

It was nice, the days we do not fish, I take a nap but maybe 2 hours, not 4. I guess I am getting worn down. Sailcats are a hard fish to catch, they are big and put up a hard fight.

I am so sad that you are dealing with so many health issues! It really is time that we have universal healthcare and not have to worry that going to the doctor means financial problems.

@mariannewest thank you for caring, it is hard not having insurance. The problem is that we do not make enough money for Obamacare and make too much for Medicaid, we fall through the cracks. I turn 65 this August and we are trying to figure out which Medicare plan I need and how much it is going to cost us each month. There is a lady at the clinic we go to and 2 weeks ago I had to renew the sliding scale with them, she mention something about when I get on Medicare she will help us file paperwork where we will not need to pay anything. I hope that is what she meant, anyway Monday I am going to go in there and ask to see her. Wish me luck.
