This is my post for #freewriters Monday prompt artisans hosted by @mariannewest

I do not see myself as artistic but sometimes when I look at a piece of junk I see what could be made from it, but I do not have the time to put it together. But I have a friend who is a true artisan.

Charlie was born here, his Dad and Grandfather owned one of the fish houses. Charlie fished for many of his younger years then he got into politics and ran for State Representative and won. After several years he got out of politics and ran for County Tax Collector and won. He spent many years as our tax collector.

He now does jobs for the State restoring the river or riverfront. But his passion is building metal sculptures.

He made this seahorse and sold it to a restaurant in Texas, it is on the beach and they changed the name to The Seahorse.

Charlie made this guy in honor of all Veterans

My Granddaughter just graduated from welding school, she is certified in all three types and showed me that she could be an artisan with this bird she made for me.
