This is my post for #freewriters Thursday prompt mocking bird hosted by @mariannewest

We decided to try a new area today, but first, we had to drive to the dock where we keep our bait.

We put it in a bucket and use a dolly to carry it back down the dock, then put the bait in the baitwell on the boat. We have pumps shooting air in it so they will have oxygen.

While my husband got the bait I talked to one of the clam guys who was cleaning the upwellers. The upwellers are what they put clam seed in when it is the size of beach sand.

They grow them to 6mm in size then place them in bags and put them on the river bottom to grow.

We drove to Palm Bay and put the boat in at Turkey Creek. We fished the channel and I caught a sailcat and my husband had a very large shark. We moved to the middle of the river and caught about 50 pounds of sailcats but they were small. Next, we went up Turkey Creek and we each had a shark. We went back to the ramp and pulled the boat out.

We drove to Grant and put the boat back overboard. While I waited with the boat for my husband to park the truck I could hear someone say, do you have any numbers on the other side? On the next dock was someone in a uniform with a big gold badge and writing in gold letters on his back, I could not make out what it said. I have never seen a law enforcement officer with this uniform. He asked the guy if he had a registration for the boat and the man said something and pointed towards the parking lot. The officer said. let's go look at it.

I did not want to take a picture of the people so when they walked off, I took this one of the boat.

When my husband got back to the boat I asked him what kind of lawman was he and he said the truck says NOAA Federal Agent. I said I wonder what is going on and my husband says he did not know but we were getting the hell out of there.

We fished a couple of places by the channel and in the 3rd place we started catching. We kept hearing a squawking noise it was some kind of baby bird but I really doubt it was a mocking bird, It must have been an osprey or blue heron. This spot was noisy but we caught a little over 100 pounds.

My husband said he was going to drive by the fish house and see if anyone was there. To our surprise, they were there. We weighed our fish and it came to 172 pounds. We were happy but then the owner told us they were not going to be 75 cents a pound this week, he did not tell us what they will be but hopefully, he does not cut the price to low.

Very beautiful fish and I am very happy that they have given you a reasonable price, today as things are, it is difficult to live with such high costs. And it is worldwide, I hope everything continues to go well for you, you are a very interesting person and I like how you talk about your life.

A cordial greeting.
