Wheel Her In

Wheel her in!! The chorus went. We want to see Big Martha!!
Wheel her in! Wheel her in!!
The voices got louder and louder as more and more people gathered at the entrance of the tent.
They wanted to see Big Martha, by gosh.
And nobody could persuade them that it might not be a good idea right now.
She was angry = big Martha was. because it was just too loud outside the tent.
And noise was one of the many things she did not tolerate in her life.
No Noise!! Too loud!!
Wheel her in!!
WHEEL HER IN!
Louder and louder the crowd got as the minutes were clicking by.
By now, the chanting was almost as exciting to the noisemakers as the wish to see Big Martha - maybe even more exciting.
There is joy in raising the voice. See how loud we can get...
louder, louder, louder.
The excitement becomes palpable.
pretty soon, the front row is coming closer and closer to the entrance, pushed by the ones behind them.
Pushing is as much fun as screaming out loud. push, forward. The crowd wants to see - what is there.
many are coming now, from where nobody knows.
This was supposed to be a quiet spot for Big Martha.
But the shouting and chanting is attracting more and more people.
Then it happens.
One too many pushes landed on this tall, brown-haired man's back. With a frown on his face, he turns around and his fist connects with the jaw of the person right behind him.
That was the start of what the crowd was really looking for. Fists are flailing, bones are cracking, blood is dripping and everyone is happy now.
After all, Big Martha was just big and something to look at.
This was the real thing!

Yup - and it would be so nice if this would only happen in fiction...

It would ... just views of a dystopia upon which we could close the book, instead of opening the book to a mirror...
