Writing help

  • A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Just remember that is is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link

  • Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.

  • A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

Hey @mariannewest I have figured out how to go Live from iOS mobile on many places including YouTube without 1000 subs and for no added cost using restream.io ... let me know on discord if you need help setting it up!

Awesome 👏 it’s so simple once set up ... you will need to connect a discord channel to funnel all chat into once place I think but other then that it is basically plug and play

  • Sign up with restream.io
  • Install StreamLabs on mobile device
  • Connect restream.io to social channels & discord
  • Connect StreamLabs App to restream.io via RTMP KEY
  • Set Chat Widget on StreamLabs to use Restream chat link

After that it’s just the usual(each channel has its own pre setup and connection but after everything is set and thumbnails selected)

daily requires:

  • Open restream.io Set title and description - update all at once
  • Adjust social media auto share message(it only posts exactly what is entered, remember to include preferred link and title)
  • Share youtube link of stream(double check it updated title and use that one, sometimes makes new upcoming stream) to DTube
  • Open Streamlabs on Mobile Device and go Live
  • always good to have a second device to look at restream.io double checking each channel actually connects on dashboard ... if you notice my streams start with me counting off the connections then I go into it (takes 10-20 seconds sometimes)

It’s many little steps in between such as the discord part needs to be a server you can add a bot to and going through that seems complicated.

Take it step by step and you can get there, I’m now working on cutting edge stuff 😅 just trying to route audio was a challenge which you won’t have to worry about in the slightest
