Writing help

  • A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Just remember that is is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link

  • Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.

  • A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

Lifeline

"Ping."

I waited. Last time I heard her voice was over two days ago. Honestly, I expected her to be dead, but my heart cried out, bringing a little bit of hope. Her knee was broken, so she wouldn't be able to climb out for sure. Asking for help wasn't an option, because she'd be shot dead on sight after the crime we've committed.

We agreed she'd wait quietly, no matter how painful it was, until I could rescue her. This damned trap door wasn't in the layout we were given, but I could make do with a rope and my strong physique alone to get her out. Of course, neither of us had it easy, but that's what the spy training was for.

She used to be the enemy - now she's the love of my life - we're done for, because even if she survives, there's no way...

"Pong."

Her faint voice answered from the darkness below. My heart skipped a beat. I threw her an end of the rope.
