#freewrite :: Prompt for Day 1251: eternal

(Edited)

What is eternal, I wonder? Does it exist? If it does, in what circumstance does it exist? Where does it exist?

It is not until we lose someone dear that we realise nothing is truly eternal. Happily ever after and forever do not really exist because each of us will die some day.

The year when my grandma passed away, was the year I experienced real loss. A few years after, I got into an accident and I lost my uncle. A car hit us from behind. It was the same year, I lost my favourite aunt to cancer.

I realised the importance of time with loved ones, no matter how far or near, in whichever way possible, no matter how little time you have with them, it is always worth it. Just picking up the phone to call them, even if it is just for a quick hello, is worth it.

If someone mean something to us, getting upset with them over something trivial is a waste of precious time. Forgive and forget, make up and spend whatever time we have with them.

Anything can happen at any time. Tomorrow may never come for some. The ones we love will not always be around. The ones we care about may not be there tomorrow. What matters is today. What matters is now.

Rest in peace @wonderwop. Thank you for all the laughter you brought to this platform in your freewritings. You are missed <3.
